  1. T didn't shoot well in 1st half and Southwestern did a good job with their zone. T has still yet to get any significant offensive production from Quick or Hicks. If those two guys can add their normal offensive game, I think T will have a good shot tonight. I thought either Dieudonne or Saxton would get player of the game for T- not sure who actually did.
  2. Assuming there are no upsets(and from what I saw today it will have to be a HUGE upset) Dieudonne and Manning will square off in final and whoever wins will get the award. Wing had a subpar tourney so I think he's out of the discussion.
  3. Don't disagree with this at all but after watching the past several years of KY high school ball closely, there is NO question the quality of the teams in the state is not as good this year. That is not meant to discount anything T has done and winning state is winning state, no matter who's in it. Merely stating an opinion and admitting that this is the year for T to get it done! However, if T plays like they did in the first half last night again, they risk getting beat.
  4. And they were beaten by a team with a point guard who started in the SEC as a freshman. There doesn't appear to be any talent of that level left in the tourney with the possible exception of the Rowan Co kid and Scott county players. It just appears that T has some very good talent and the rest of the state is down this year. They will need to play well but they certainly have the significant edge on paper at this point.
  5. I loved the call late in the game where #1 from BE physically pushed Quick over the half court and they called over and back. That was a joke!
  6. Trinity played very nervous for most of 1st half. Kudos to reserves Miles Rice and Demarcus Page who came in and played very well. IMO, Rice got the ball rolling for T tonight when he hit some big threes! No production from Saxton or Hicks but I look for that to change in the next game. On to Clark Co.
  7. Congratulations would be fine! Maybe X should have some of their "emphasized" athletes who play football also play on the Bball team?
  8. HUGE win for T! To come from 9 down in the 4th Q against a solid Ballard team is big. X game will be closer than one would think based on rivalry but tonight's win shows that T has the mental toughness that could carry them far in the tourney.
  9. Easier said then done. Historically, Ballard has been a thorn in Trinity's side and this year could be the same. IMO, T needs to play better than they did against Male or they could be in for a long night. If Male had anyone who could shoot that would have been a much closer game. Also, need more from Hicks and Dieudonne to win against Ballard. Go rocks!
  10. Probably the best game of tourney in 1st round(PRP, Bullitt East, Moore vs Trinity, Ballard). That's a bummer for one of those regions who would most likely be favored against EVERY other region representative except maybe 11th.
  11. Actually, I believe the same treatment would occur to any Louisville team ranked #1 playing out in the state- not just Trinity.
  12. I totally disagree. Let me ask this- If they were going for a rebound and Dieudonne was blocking him out it would have been a foul on the MC player. Agree? What is different about this? He was trying to screen the kid away from the ball and he held inside position. The T player has just as much right to that ball as the MC player so he is allowed to screen him from the ball. As I said earlier, we shall agree to disagree
  13. We're just going to have to agree to disagree on this one
  14. The player boxing out has the same right to the ball as the player behind him. I would argue that the MC player fouled Dieudonne as he jumped over his back to get the ball. If this was a rebound situation, no question the MC player fouled him. You are allowed to see it through your rose colored glasses any way you would like but in that situation, 0.1 sec on clock, the ref should NEVER make that call unless a player does some malicious act.
  15. I think that is the point that the T fans are making! Let it go to OT and if MC wins, so be it. You can argue over dumb fouls T made earlier and missed free throws by T but refs should not be that critical in the final outcome of the game and in this case they were. The game should ALWAYS be decided by the play of the kids and not the stripes and there is no question if you look at the tape, no matter how biased you are, that the last call should not have been made and the game should have gone to OT.
  16. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. My question is- did the better team truly win this game? I don't think anyone can say that based on the conclusion of the game. Hopefully they will get a chance to meet again and settle the debate with quality referees.
  17. After watching the play, you are correct. There was a foul; however, it was a foul on the Madison Central player. Dieudonne clearly has inside position on the ball and is backing up to make the interception when the Madison Central player jumps over his back. Horrible way to steal a game from a team! The reality is- referees should NEVER decide a game and they do and one team gets screwed and in this case it was Trinity! However, I still have to give Madison Central credit for a great game.
  18. Let's face reality. If you are from Louisville playing out in the state, or at Rupp when it counts, you will get no breaks and cannot allow the refs to have a chance to be involved in the game. And as Szabo said, and I've never heard him make such a declarative stement about the refs before, that's not fair to the kids when a ref makes a call that determines the outcome of a game. The kid would have had to tackle the player in college for that to be called and I seriously doubt that was what happened! That being said, you have to congratulate Madison Central for a great effort!
  19. Sounds like Trinity good a trial run for the refereeing they would face if they get to Rupp. How do you call an off the ball foul with no time on the clock???
  20. I think T's lackluster performance against X will make life more difficult for Madison Central tonight
  21. I think T came out flat figuring they would blow X out. Started 2nd half with a bit more purpose on D and took care of business. It still amazes me that X cannot get the talent on the basketball floor that they get on the football field. This hasn't been a game for many years. It seem for past 4-5 years T just lets X hang around and then takes over when they need to!
  22. Seniors Foster- Morehead State Dieudone- Boston U Saxton D2- Alabama Huntsville Juniors Hicks- will go mid-high D1 school Quick- high D1 football Rice- Probably D2
  23. This was a 30 point game early in the 2nd quarter. Trinity was playing their end of the bench players in the 2nd quarter. They could have won by over 70. If Madison Central on Sat or PRP at PRP next week don't give these guys a game, this may be the year they go all the way!
  24. And they haven't been getting much from Deudonne or Saxton this week If those guys can get into the mix more they'll be tough to beat!
  25. They were ranked 1st in the state for two months in 2010. They've been very good for past several years. It's just so tough to get out of 7th region to get to state.
