St. X won last year's overtime thriller. Central enters with an unblemished record. Who wins & why?

St. X wins but it will be another battle. X and Central games have always been entertaing and Central has come close to knocking off the Tigers. Central again, will prove that they are one of the top teams in the state with their performance, but I just think X will be a little too much for them.

I don't see the game being as close as last year, seeing this offense isnt based upon Mattingly's scrambling ability.

I think this game will tell us a lot about both teams.

Moeller game told me all i needed to know about X.

Uniform question...have the Tigers hung up their gold jersey's? Surprised that they have not worn them yet this year.

X needs to win this game badly. They will have a huge crowd with T out of town. Central may have close to the athletes that X has, but coaching should be the difference.

So you think Central will win, I assume, since their Coach has won the past three or so 3A titles?

No.

Stop it. Even if they have the athletes which they don't, they dont have the depth nor the coaching advantage. Even if X shoots itself in the foot Central won't win.

Heck no. X's coaches are better; the entire PROGRAM is better. Winning in 3A is a little different animal than winning in 6A. Put it this way: if Central had X's coaching staff for the past 30 years they would have more than 3 titles.

All I'm saying is that last year Central proved they had the athletes. If X "shoots itself in the foot" they may - and should - still win, but it could be a game.

Who knows really, its all about who comes to play when the ball is kicked off. Thats with any team or any game.

St. X has put points on the board this year. In regulation they have scored 31 against Bowling Green, 28 against Dutch Fork and 27 the other night against Moeller. Bowling Green had not given up over 21 points in their 17 game winning streak. Against Bowling Green -- St. X had 23 points at halftime and the BG fans I spoke to at halftime thought X would score 40 - 45. Then Gahafer did not play the second half due to injury. I think they will score in the mid to high 30's against Central this weekend.

The defense needs to start coming around and making more three and out defensive stands. When they do this will be a very formidable X team. Central will be another big test. The kicking game has always favored St. X against Central. I'm thinking a 38 - 20 X win is possible. Congrats to Ty Scroggins and Central for playing the schedule they do.

Too bad there are no Central Fans on here for this game. St.X coaching staff would not have won more state championships if they were at Central. You guys really have no clue on what that staff at Central has done. Winning in 6A or 3A, you still have to play the game. Lets get real; Trinity is head and shoulders above everyone, then there is 6A. 6A football is down this year. Look at all the teams that have lost to schools that are not 6A.

Central will do just fine Friday night, and pull the upset. Their defense is as good as anyone's. They gave up 49 total yards last week. Stopped Evansville Reitz running game, (by the way) Reitz beat a KY 6A power. I also was at the Scott County scrimmage, and saw that defense give up only 13 points. X better be ready.
