Yes, it did... on a 3rd and 8 when it counted, X could not even bring themselves to call a passing play! If Central is ever to win this game this is the year. 10 guys back from a defense that lost to X by 1 point in 2011, and they are on a roll. This is like a WKU playing a Kentucky, shouldn't be a worry, but guess what....?

The gold on gold unis have not been retired and they are cool! the Tigers will handle the Jackets 31-20.

Too bad there are no Central Fans on here for this game. St.X coaching staff would not have won more state championships if they were at Central. You guys really have no clue on what that staff at Central has done. Winning in 6A or 3A, you still have to play the game. Lets get real; Trinity is head and shoulders above everyone, then there is 6A. 6A football is down this year. Look at all the teams that have lost to schools that are not 6A.

Central will do just fine Friday night, and pull the upset. Their defense is as good as anyone's. They gave up 49 total yards last week. Stopped Evansville Reitz running game, (by the way) Reitz beat a KY 6A power. I also was at the Scott County scrimmage, and saw that defense give up only 13 points. X better be ready.

I believe that St. X wins without much trouble.

Bowling Green had not given up over 21 points in their 17 game winning streak. Against Bowling Green -- St. X had 23 points at halftime and the BG fans I spoke to at halftime thought X would score 40 - 45. Then Gahafer did not play the second half due to injury. I think they will score in the mid to high 30's against Central this weekend.

The St X offense scored 16 pts in the first half against BG. The other 7 was a botched punt snap that X picked up and ran in. But your point is well taken. X is the best offense the Purples will see all year and the Tigers will score a lot against Central.

I will accept and eat a crow sandwhich if I'm wrong but I do not see X scoring 35+ points in the game. I'm not so sure 35 total points will be scored.

Central squeaked by Ballard 19-14. Ballard is the best team the Jackets have played thus far. If X were playing Ballard this week after Central had beaten Ballard, X would be a prohibitive favorite. Central gets a little more respect because they win 3A championships. They won't be able to lineup, toss the ball, and just outrun X. I will accept and east a crow sandwich if X doesn't score 35 and win by 3 TD's.

First, Central has always been a tough oppenent for X even when I frist remember the Tigers taking on the Yellowjackets back in the '00 season. With that being said, Central has never been able to slow down X's "run first" offense. Until they can stop, don't change it. Last years, game if I remember correctly, was QBed by Gahafer. Mattingly said out with an injury. Central broke some big plays which has been a common theme for the X defense the past few years. With that being said, it'll be a good game but X will just be a little too much late.

 

In regards to a previous post about X running the ball on 3rd and 8 against Moeller. If I read correctly, they had to score a TD so they had 2 downs to get 8 yards. So if they had success in the 4th quarter with the run why not run it to make 4th down that more manageable? I believe that X's offense can by conservative in close games, but one thing I will give Coach Chitwood credit for is that he sticks to what is working during the game. So there is no problem with running the ball on 3rd and 8 when you know you're going for it on 4th down.

 

Lastly, I like the gold jerseys; I hope they don't go anywhere!
