  1. This just illustrates how ridiculous the everybody gets into the playoffs approach is. Trinity has done nothing to try to run this up and it's still this bad I doubt there will be many close games tonight. Wasting time and money and risking getting kids hurt and I can't see many positives for either team IMO
  2. I agree that it should be a coach and parent joint decision. One concern for the parent is that the rule has changed, as I understand, and if a middle schooler plays high school, they have to sit a year if they go to a different high school.
  3. Congrats to Troy and his family! Third commitment for Trinity senior class- 2 DI and one DII
  4. That "nice Tiger win" earns a lot of respect in my eyes! That's why I made the comments that I did.
  5. Nope. Cincy X was top 5 in Ohio so down year or not up there, Lou X must be playing better going into the playoffs Will it be good enough to push Trinity? :idunno:
  6. Looks like round 3 of the playoffs just got a little bit more competitive for Trinity!
  7. He really has no ground to stand on there as Ballard has had several kids in the past few years that came from outside the designated feeders and chose to go to Ballard for the better Bball program
  8. I disagree! This is a huge interstate game and I think they should make an effort and start their best. If they start getting behind and victory seems unlikely then certainly sub and keep your starters from getting injured. If I'm Beatty and they don't give me their best shot, I beat them as bad as I can!
  9. My bad, you are correct! However, I'm still not convinced that Renner would dodge anybody but i could be mistaken.
  10. I'm not sure if this all Renner or those he works for making decisions:idunno: Renner has played T for years when he "didn't have to" and I think he likes to play the best during the season to preparefor regionals.
  11. Not sure on Jtown and Eastern but I know Ballard refused to play them.
  12. 2010 team was up there. Great regular season winning all three tourneys and going 24 straight undefeated only to be upset in regional. If you look at the talent you had a mid D1, two D3 players who both were major contributors as freshman and two sophomores who have both committed to D1 schools. That compares to a low D1 player and two NAIA on 2005 team and I'm not sure who else played in college. As far as this season, they look great on paper and have a shot to get to Rupp, although Ballard will not be an easy out.
  13. I'm not so sure Manual won't play them well next week IMO, Trinity played much better tonight than against X
  14. The defense was very good tonight I think Manual is better than this score
  15. That will be a tall order! One problem with X has been the lack of football players playing BBall. Their best athletes aren't playing Bball!
  16. If you check the Ballard roster over the past several years it is "amazing" how many of the kids came from outside Ballard's district or appeared to be going to other schools and changed their minds late and went to Ballard. I'm sure they go for the basketball, which is understandable, but IMO there is not much difference than kids deciding to go to T and X for sports so I don't think Renner can hold any resentment. I'm not sure he is to blame as much as his administration as he has never avoided playing anybody in the past.
  17. I think Ballard will be just as good as Trinity Besides Snider, they have Holland, Kelan Martin and a couple other quality kids plus they always have depth. Trinity will have to play a more up tempo style as they lack a true post player and it remains to be seen if they can adjust to that.
  18. For the first time in forever, Trinity and Ballard aren't playing. My source says Ballard refuses to play them. Only chance to meet will be in LIT or region.
  19. Trinity kids from past few years 2010-Josh Sewell should be seeing significant minutes at the 2 at Miami(Ohio) Taylor Epley was in top 7 rotation at Williams College as a frosh(D3 final four) Daniel Corbett started at point guard as a freshman at Johns Hopkins(D3) 2011-Chancellor Armstrong-Cumberland College(NAIA)
  20. I would disagree Wright understands how to run an offense, check out of bad plays, and make the correct throws. Mattingly can run better but that's about it.
