  1. Skidmore at Powell is a great high school running back, the best on West Carter's schedule by far. If Powell beats Bath this week they are likely to go undefeated in the regular season. This game will come down to time of possession and turnovers. I'll take Powell County in this one because they have the ability to school must faster than Bath. Powell County 35 Bath County 28
  2. West Carter gave up almost 500 yards rushing in this game last year and still won. West Carter is much improved from last year even though they are a super young team. I expect another shootout. West Carter 42 Powell 35
  3. 7 Corbin 5 Sheldon Clark 3 Perry Central 2 Ashland 1 Lynn Camp 1st Tiebreaker: Corbin
  4. West Carter looked great for having freshman and sophomores everywhere on the field. Good Luck to Greenup this season! But they have a lot of work to do if they want to beat Ashland or JC IMO.
  5. Raceland's skill will be to much for Bath. Interested to see how Raceland will deal with Bath's run game.
  6. Both Classes have speed and good track athletes. There is potential for good offensive linemen also. This is what will hopefully allow West Carter to be very successful in 2A in the future.
  7. I believe West Carter will be an improved team under new leadership. I think the will be compete in every game on their entire schedule, which is not always the case at West. I look for them to be young but a much improved team from last year.
  8. Other than Transportation issues I like the idea.
  9. Any word on their current roster numbers?
  10. Christian Rivers--QB West Carter Overall a very good athlete, strong, fast, and a huge arm.
  11. West Carter never requested to play up in 3A. Final alignment has them in 2A where they should be.
  12. Something doesn’t seem right on the West Carter end of all this? They are 2A and didn’t request to play up according to all the publications put out. Why would they move up to 3A and let Morgan County move down into a 2A District that could compete in every year with Bath, Prestonsburg, Eastridge, Sheldon Clark, and Shelby Valley. I don’t understand what has happened here. I’d love to see West Carter compete at the 2A level instead of playing up in 3A like they did last realignment.
  13. Leetavious Cline at West Carter is a sophomore to be is a great athlete and will be making a lot of dynamic plays for the next three years in EKY!
  14. If your prediction is right I think that West Carter and Bath County might play 2A this cycle. The travel for District 7 2A would be shorter distance wise for West Carter. Also I would rather do district play with Betsy Layne, Prestonsburg, Sheldon Clark, and Bath County, oppose to NKY Teams. I think this District set up give a competitive chance for each team to have a shot at a District Title each year.
  15. Raceland could play up in 2A. At West Carter we played up in 3A because of being placed in a all NKY District including NewCath.
  16. Hats off to Boyle County and good luck rest of the season. Just another Classic example of why most 4 seeds do not have a chance against 1 seeds and why West Carter should not play up in 3A.
  17. Most likely will be a high scoring game, both teams are giving up almost 30ppg. Fairview's line play will be better than West Carter's but I don't think that Fairview will be able to contain WC's skill players. West Carter 40 Fairview 24
  18. Russell's Defensive Line is most likely the best in the district and the best that Bath has faced all year coupled with Russell's discipline on defense it will be tough sledding for Bath on the ground. If Russell isn't to conservative on offense they will put up 30+ on Bath. Russell by 3 TDs
  19. West Carter is 6-4 vs. Lewis County the past ten years, which has made for a pretty competitive series with WC out scoring LC 282-180. West has averaged more than 40+ points against Lewis in the past three meetings and I expect more of the same Friday night. The Comets will score early and often, question is can they stop Lewis running the football? Could this make for a tight game like West's win vs. Powell and Loses to Bath, Fleming, and Nicholas? West Carter by 3TDs. West 38 Lewis 20
  20. West Carter handled them in their pre-season scrimmage at Boyd County. But that's pre-season and doesn't count. West Carter has regressed since then and not playing very well at the moment. I still give them the edge because of their athletes.
  21. Fleming by a lot if Russell still has the injury issues. The smallest and worst Russell team that I have ever seen put on a field last night. But Russell has had some really good teams over the years, so maybe it isn't a big deal. But looked like no Russell team that I can recall.
