@GOREDDEVILS West Carter did not take care of business. Special Teams Safety followed by a poor Kick Off, gave up a Kickoff Return TD, Fumbled Kick Off Return which gave East Carter the ball on the 5 and a 10 yard punt. Mistakes were made.

Congratulations to East Carter for beating Fairview, Lewis, and Morgan County to "hype" this game up. This will be the 3rd straight year East will come into the Game 3-0. Although East Carters skill players have improved, West Carter will have the best player on the field again in #21 L. Cline. West Carter played a very good team in Mercer county down to the end. It was 6-0 with 8 minutes left in the 4th quarter West Carter turned the ball over and lost. East Carter has scored 150 points and has not had to block anyone, I think the scheduling will come into play in this game. East will have to block West Carters defense or it'll be a long night for the Raiders. How many starters did Shelby Valley loose to graduation and who are their key returners?

With this schedule and the new playoff format, I believe West Carter will have their best season ever! Assuming they stay healthy, depth will still be a issue this year for the Comets. The loss of QB Rivers will be hard to replaced but they basically have 18 returning starters from a better than average season for the Comets last year playing up a Class in 3A.

Waggner had a scoring drive and West Carter fumbled on their own 20 on two straight possessions and then a quick 3 and out.

It was 13-6 with 7 minutes left to go in the 4th quarter. West Carter had a terrible game on offense. Dropped balls, penalties, and turnovers. I think Russell will win.

Has the making for another good District game like last year. Bath County won 24-22. Bath ran 69 offensive plays compared to West who only ran 31 plays on offense. I think both teams will have their work cut out for them defensively. Turnovers and special teams will win or lose this matchup.

#18 C. Rivers for West Carter ran for a TD. Threw Two TDs and 2 point conversion and also caught two TDs.

I believe Russell will win. I am interested to see by how much.

5 years straight is correct. Was a little puzzled by some of the hype and expectations from the East end of the County this year. They have played a cup cake schedule and West has played a state runner Up and a regional runner up. I don’t think East will beat West in near future, unless they get a bunch of transfers. But that in itself is doubtful also.

West Carter played well. Stupid turnovers and 2 TDs called back. Still not getting it done in the redzone. Hopefully they will get it together come District play.

Rivalry game this week in Carter County. East Carter is 3-0 to start off the year, West Carter is coming into the game at 0-2. Biggest game of the year for both programs. West Carter has won 7 out of the last 10 meetings by an average of 17 points. As I am always hopeful for a running clock in this one. West Carter 50 East Carter 12

Everyone has their opinions and likes their own guys the best. I guess we will see how the season plays out.
