The opener against Mercer County could be intriguing.

 

If the Comets can find a QB, they could have a very good year. That district is there for the taking.

Coach Daniel Barker has done a great job building on Kevin Brown's hard work/excellent job as head coach for so many years. The Comets are in good hands and will continue to build/improve their program!

With this schedule and the new playoff format, I believe West Carter will have their best season ever! Assuming they stay healthy, depth will still be a issue this year for the Comets. The loss of QB Rivers will be hard to replaced but they basically have 18 returning starters from a better than average season for the Comets last year playing up a Class in 3A.

In 2015 West Carter went 9-3 overall and 8-2 in the regular season. Can West Carter get more than 8 wins in the regular season or finish the season with more than 9 wins? Has West Carter ever won more than 9 games in a season in their history? I wasn't able find any West Carter records before 1998 when the khsaa the started keeping records.

 

I see losses to Russell and Mercer County in out of district just from a quick look at the schedule.
