I have't bashed anyone on a personal basis, I simply questioned the play calling during the second half of the game. I know it hurts a player to lose a game like, you wanna know how and why I know this? I played for Raceland in the 90's under coach Ross. I lived through some horrible playoff games against Northern KY teams, a couple that couldnhave been won and it hurts me on a personal level to see these kids give their all to win a game and come so close and then lose it when the final outcome of the game rests in the hands of the coach. That's all. All this crap about calling this person and that person and offering suggestions is totally unrealistic. Hindsight is 20/20, I said some things that I shouldn't have, but I stand behind them 100% and I'm sure there are others out there, probably even on this sight that feel:madman: the same way I do.

Like I said, the truth hurts. I pay my five bucks at every game and I've paid my dues on here and the last time I checked this is the USA and freedom of speech is one of my rights as a citizen. I'm so sorry I came in and upset your little eutopia!! PS: Dont tell me I'm not a "true" Ram fan because I don't drink the kool-aid served up in your perfect little world.

I don't feel the need to defend myself, because anytime someone mentions anything negative on here, that person is accused of making accusations. If you can honestly sit there and tell me there was no change in the pace of the Rams offense during the game, then in my opinion you didn't watch the same game. This team went 12-0 sticking to a bruising running game, why change things so drastcally in the second half, thus giving LCA the opening they needed to get back in the game. LCA didn't win the game because of superior athletes they won it because their coach stuck to his game through four quarters of play and Raceland didn't. I don't care who I offend, this is an open forum and sometimes the truth (being my so-called "accusatons") hurts. If you don't like what I am saying then take my membership away and give my ten bucks back!!!!:mad:

You are right the Rams eventually will win that elusive title once they hire a coach that doesn't play conservative football. I know this going to tick some of you off, but I can't keep quiet any longer. Raceland went up 20-3, and instead of continuing at that pace, he throttled back. I hate it for these kids, the LCA team didn't beat the Rams because of their athletic superiority, it was because the coach couldn't make the right calls or refused to make the right calls when the game was on the line (You have to go for it on 4th and inches when the games in on the line), the same thing that happened against NCC a few years back. On a second note, Mr. Farley should be ashamed of the way he calls the games, I don't think there is another announcer in the area who calls a game as rudely as he does at times. It tarnishes our image. If he wants to act like that, maybe he should get a job in radio.:madman:

Raceland has always had several guys going both ways. At a 1A school it's hard to find the kind of numbers and talent to have two seperate units.

I agree with you 110%. Something that has killed me the past couple of seasons is the play of our DB's. They seem to wait for the ball to come down and don't attack. There were several times against Russell that an aggressive DB could have broken up a pass play or even intercepted the ball, of course it may be too loate in the season to correct this. The mental mistakes have to be at a minimum against WC and more importanly against Fairview in the 1st round of the playoffs. The arm tackling has to go, and better special teams play, this isn't the NFL or the NCAA, "everyone" needs to be prepared to make the tackle. Mike B.

These are my thoughts on the game. The atmosphere was awesome, I've been to many Raceland games in the last fifteen years and I don't think I can remember anything as exciting as last night's game. First off, Russell played an awesome game and they are for real. They have size and speed, and are fundamentally sound. Raceland hung tough but turnovers and penalties killed us. The half time adjustments have to go to Russell. They came out in the second half and dominated, congrats. I was very disappointed that Raceland lost, but I hope the "playoff" type atmosphere helps to prep for the real thing. All in all, I had a great time. I was impressed with the sportsmanship of both team and the fans on both sides. I think this could be the start of something good, hopefully a renewal of a rivalry that should never have stopped. Good luck Devils, as always I will be pulling for you guys the rest of the way out. Rams, get your heads up and get ready West Carter and then the playoffs. Mike B.

These Ashland kids are going to be hungry for a win and the strong showing at Russell will give them the confidence they have needed. I say Ashland takes it!

Ashland is young this year, really young. Sure, Ashland has started out with two losses, but they have lost to a couple of really good class "A" teams. Things will pan out for Ashland, Coach Hart is a top notch coach, who could be coaching on the college level, so I think Ashland is very lucky to have him. Some of you Ashland fans just need to get off your high horse and let the season play out, if it's a down year, so be it, you learn and move on. The best thing to do is keep the negative thoughts to yourself, I'm guessing a lot of the kids who play for Ashland get on here from time to time, and the last thing they need is another negative comment to knock them down another notch. Show some pride in your team and stop complaining. I'm sure if the 'Cats where 2 and 0 you wouldn't be so negative now would you. Mike B. :devil:

Well, I'm partial to Ashland coming down the steps of historic Putnam Stadium. I also enjoyed Johnson Central's this past year. I thought it was great!

Seeding is the only way to go in my book. If a team has proven to be the top of their district, they should be rewarded with a "slightly" easier path to the regional tournament. The best teams are supposed to be at the regional tournament.

I think HHS will dominate, but I would like to see it be a competitive game down the stretch. I just want to see the HHS players really put on a show!I'm really glad they are televising some of their games.

I'm not sure about any other era but a few more for the 90's are as follows: Brian Schaffer (DE/LB/DL/OL), Jim Music (OL/DL), Ryan McKenzie (QB/DB), Joe Cantrell (QB/DB), Shannon McCoy (LB/RB), Phillip Kearns (OL/DL), Bruce Baldwin (OL/DL), Shane Bishop (FB/LB), Gary Fannin (DB/WR), Will Fannin (DB/WR) I could go on and on, but I'll stop here. Maybe honorable mention, Mike Baldwin (Got to plug myself in there.)

I think it's a toss up..although Ashland has some momentum going in. I don't think anyone can know what will happen in Ashland-BC games, but I'm going to go with my Cats. Ashland 61-Boyd County 54

From what I read, Zonebuster started talking about the JV game. Not elementary level. But, thanks for the help SB. There was no overreaction on my part. Just a request to get back to the thread topic. And FYI, my spouse is a Raceland grad and I'm an Ashland grad. No need to make insinuations about my mental health. Great game by the Cats! Are we seriously talking about elementary and middle school games on here? How about we open a thread for Pee-Wee basketball where you can brag about your 6th graders beating everyone. Let's talk about high school b-ball on here, since that is what it was opened for. Geez-just take the loss. This is not new that RH has young players. It's a small school. To make up a team in the levels that other schools have, you have to pull up kids from the lower grades. It does not mean that you are that much better than everyone else.

I watched OJ play at RH and thought he forced too many shots. I thought that was just lack of maturity. But, if he's still doing that now...there's a problem. Especially with the other talent on that team. No doubt he's the best to come through this area..I don't think anyone will argue on that. But, you've got to play as a team. He's going to face players just as talented in college and the pros.

Congrats to Boyd on a good win. March is going to be interesting! I can't wait to see how it all plays out. It's great to have so much competition in the area.

I agree Bobby. I haven't been to the AIT in years, but very seriously contemplating coming to this game tonight-only for the fact that they are playing Boyd. Not knocking the other great teams that come and play every year, it's just more fun to have a rivalry game.

I believe that 11 was the most KCC got up. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. Then Ashland went on a big run and hit all of those threes.

First of all, great game by both teams. I am always going to pull for a local team and have become quite the Russell fan in the past few years with their deep playoff runs. I have one question about the game. On Mercer's first score, they went for it on 4th down, and scored off of a recovered fumble in the endzone. Am I wrong by saying that the score shouldn't have been granted? I thought on forth down the only person offense eligible to advance a fumble was the person who fumbled? Anyway, that was it. I want to congratulate both teams on a great game and great seasons. The game was fun to listen to. Mike
