Boyd / Ashland Predictions

Featured Replies

The Lions and the Tomcats go at again tommorrow night in the AIT. Ashland coming off a nice win over Knott County Central, Boyd coming off a W against Highlands. Can the Tomcats even the series at 1-1 for the year ? Who wins this one ?

This is going to be a battle.

This game is near impossible to predict. Boyd has played solid in all their games this year. Ashland seems to be hot one night and ice cold the next. Its tough to beat the Tomcats at anything two times in a row, and its nearly impossible to get a win against Ashland at their own place in their own tournament. Ashland has improved a lot since the last time these two met, Boyd also has got better with every game. You never know what can happen in this game. I do recall some poster saying " Ashland will beat Boyd next time, mark it down." Its gonna get ugly on here if he's wrong, could be another GIAT situation. Wait, maybe that poster was GIAT under a false name trying to get back into BPG, sounds like somethign he would say. All joking aside, with the game at Ashland, I may have to give them the slight edge. While Ashland seems more athletic, Boyd seems to be much more physical. Selby will play a great deal in this one as he always does, if he can stay on the court, boyd has a great shot. These two teams love playing each other and always make watching the games fun for the fans of both sides. I think if Boyd controls tempo again and holds Ashland to less than 60, they win. I'll hold off on my final prediciton for a while.

Boyd played awful tonight. Deserved to lose. Somehow found a way to win. They didn't quit,, but if Highlands shoots anywhere near 50% they win by 20.

Boyd better lace'em up tight tomorrow night, as Ashland will be a test. Ashland looked great for 3 quarters tonight IMO.

Ashland has looked great at a lot of points in their last 4 or 5 games. This will tell a lot about Boyd and Ashlands programs.

Boyd cannot play the way they did tonight,I cannot call this game either.

Boyd 54

Ashland 51

as long as they let Boyd play physical

Refs kept the whistles in their pockets in both Ashland and Boyds game last night and let them play, be interesting to see if that changes.

Ashland and Boyd are on the same side of the bracket for a reason, Ashland by 6 at home. Good luck to both teams!:thumb:

This is going to be a 4 point game one way or the other, with the water just as muddy after the game as before. But I will bet you a bottle of pop Ashland will not get clean open looks from the 3 point line like they did against Knott Co. they are a little harder to make with a hand in your face.

Good point,Ashland did not play all that well either.Look for a old fashion shoot out.

Congrats to Ashland for having Boyd in the A.I.T. they should play in each others tournys each year. They have not played in it since the early 90"s. This has got to be a plus in the old bank book, and it brings up the possible 4th meeting between the schools in a year. If you ask each one of these kids there is no other team they would rather play.:ylsuper:

I agree Bobby. I haven't been to the AIT in years, but very seriously contemplating coming to this game tonight-only for the fact that they are playing Boyd. Not knocking the other great teams that come and play every year, it's just more fun to have a rivalry game.

Looks like Ashland has come a long way since their game at The Fieldhouse.

I'll say Tomcats 62, Boyd County 56.
