What if a school can not afford either a A.T. or a school nurse? Do they Stop all sports and cancel classes. For some schools the well being of students takes precedent over atheletes. I went to a school that we were fortunate enough to have a A.T. full time after school and on the weekends, however we did not have a school nurse. I did not miss a day of school in my 4 years and never had to be attended to (ice tub, taped ankles, saturday morning rehab, etc.) in my 4 years of football. So essentially I did not need either. If my child was a non-sports playing student I would much rather there be a school nurse than just an after hours A.T.

Adversity is when you lose your job and have kids, a car and a mortgage. Adversity is not an injury or a dispute.

Seeing the names of schools long ago consolidated (some not) is very neat. I've always wondered why Ky has county high schools and other immediate states do not. In the Encyclopedia of Northern Ky (included owen, bracken, grant, mason, and robertson) it stated there was a state mandate for all counties to have a school for those kids to go to. This is a big reason for consolidation and a lot of unknown school names on the list.

As a NewCath supporter I would like to see them play Highlands again, but what Mueller has done at Highlands it is probablly for the best. He has taken a tremendous football program and turned it into a machine with no end in sight. That being said why wouldn't the crosstown showdown pit NCC/Dixie versus an Ohio team. In my opinion it is boring seeing KY teams play each other and Ohio schools play each other.

Saying Brossart is a place with personality is a joke. Like said before you can fill the place with an 8th grade game. what gives it the personality? The 500 you can squeeze into it or the 600 you can cram into the lobby to watch the games on tv? St. Mary's barn has more personality than Brossarts gym.

I've heard that Rhineheardt(?) from Brossart was going to interview for the job. They like his intensity and passion for his kids.

since when did TRINITY start playing basketball?

I make sure I always pay, most schools depend on everyone paying to get in. I know plenty of people working the ticket booth that would let me in for free. They almost never accept the money for my 3 year old though. That being said I have a tough time making it to more that one or two games a year.

Do these 2 teams still have a regular season game left? Looks like BB is legit in the 10th this year having already been blowing teams out. Hopefully NewCath can flip the results when/if they meet again.

I was at the Dixie/NC game last thursday and I was impressed with McDonald. He was very agressive underneath and at attacking the basket. He had a night where he couldn't buy a shot but for the 1st time out in a varsity game I thought he did really well.

I was at the game last night. It ended up being competitive, but Dixie was never really challenged after the first 2 minutes. For a 1st game NewCath perfromed as expected, rusty. Dixie did a great job of crashing the boards and finding the open man. Dixie did a great job passing the ball. NewCath #34 bless his heart had a hard time in the eraly going buying a bucket. I know you play the what if game, but if he hits half of the looks he had from3 feet away in the 1st half then the outcome maybe different. Of course with Hatton dropping 20 plus in the second half that would still be tough to pull off.

I should've stated the hospitality by the people in BG not the officials.

This comment is like saying comparing scores is o.k. Well Mayfield beat Beechwood and lost to Hazard so that means Hazard is the 1A champ. HC beat Glasgow which makes them the 2A champ. Are you going to play 7 degrees of Kevin Bacon to justify this comment? How do you know Mayfield beats HC just b/c they beat Beechwood and Beechwood destroyed HC?

Love my Breds, but if they can't hit free throws down the stretch (ala 9th region epic final) then what's to expect?

Well if one wants to see this game they should've bought tickets last year. I think the gym only holds a couple hundred people. Holmes rolls in the junior high gym Brossart plays in. And yes I am bitter that I have missed some top match-ups b/c the gym is tiny.

On the other hand i have made the 1 plus trip to the Ville for random games b/c it is close enough. That being said WKU is a great venue for the finals. The crowd is right on top of the field, and the hospitality is great.

That's like comparing apples to oranges. Ky is a basketball state, and the fact that the games are played inside over the course of 4 days helps a ton. I personally would not drive the 3 plus hours to freeze and drive back the same day, unless a team I rooted for was playing.

Great game. Hard to watch both the Belfry/Central game and the UK game at the same time.

Isn't HC in Latonia? My father in law went there and he grew up in Latonia and the school was only 3 blocks away.

Congrats to HC football. I played against HC thier 1st real varsity season in 1999, the program has come leaps and bounds. Awesome that Coach Kozerski still brings up John Wysong when talking about the success of the program.
