White flags all around!!! How does prestiges NCC land a small but stud QB from AZ? Although it may be odd that a FB player from another state (AZ being quite a distance away), what are the odds of him falling into the laps of the GREAT NEWPORT CENTRAL CATHOLIC FOOTBALL POWER HOUSE?!!! They have been such A POWER SINCE 2000 or so and there was no sign of slowing down on all of thier state championships; now there is definitely no sign those championship trophies will stop rolling in any time soon. NewCath football powerhouse since 2000!!!

I agree. Don Weber did so much for NKY sports, it is being missed severely now. No matter how minute the event Don and NKY sports made it seem like it was the super bowl. The KHSAA is after money, that is why local sports coverage is the way it is.

I tend to agree with this. When I was in highschool I missed the semi's of my schools All Tourney for work (I was there for the 1st 2 games and the finals) and also missed the regional semi's that year b/c I had to work (I made the finals), though I had the games on the radio. When I was in school outside of football season there was hardly a weekend I didn't work Saturday and Sunday.

Deters is just like any parent today, Thier child can do no wrong and it has to be the coach's fault. T and X are T and X for a reason. yeagle and Mueller are great coaches but do we honestly think they could beat T or X with that team and only 6 days to prepare?

I sure hope NewCath goes down low in this one. In the 3 games I've seen this year they did not even seem to be looking inside unless the post man was obviously wide open. If the post man did get the ball they kicked it back out almost immediately. Inside out is how you win games.

Because they are two different states. I know when Moeller was in its hey day for football they were getting numerous talented players from Ky. St. X. as well. I'm sure it was not limted to football either. But I know personally guys I grew up with who went to St. X. just for school and lived in Ky.

Towles did have a big game tonight, but when it mattered he missed the front end of a 1 and 1 with 8 seconds remaining. Aslo thought the offcials were horrible tonight. They need to keep 9th region officials for the district games and not use other regions officials.

If everyone is so up in arms about concussions, then Good. I lost track of how many helmets came off due to non-direct contact this year. Players these days loosen thier chin straps so thier helmets fly off when they get hit, so they look cool.

I have made it to atleast one game a year since my 2000. As usually happens, my dad is the reason my brothers and I started going. I usually go down friday morning. My first ever state game was Barbour and co. coming back to be Lexcath in the 2000 finals. E-Town was down in the first half and came back and won. The introductions that night still gives me goosebumps thinking about them. As an 18 year old, seeing a grown man crying (drunk as well) at the front desk of the hotel lobby, I found it odd. 11 years later I fully understand the emotion that is involved with the tourney. One day the day will come when my father will no longer be able to attend and I hope my brothers and I can carry on the tradition as well.

If NewCath's gym fills up in 10 minutes, will they have the game on closed circuit television? Brossart has closed circuit tv and it worksout pretty well when over 200 people show up for a home game.
