Can someone tell me why Hightchew doesn't play the point and Beuter the 2 guard?

As stated in Game thread, senior laden squad, making free throws, and great guard play is a formula that can cover any deficiencies a team can have. Good luck to the Rebels at Rupp. They have a real shot to get to the semis, then who knows.

Two years in a row the Breds suffer a loss in the finals. That has to hurt man.

 

Congrats to the Breds on a great season. They will return several nice players. Miller/Ryan/Hightchew/Morse all had nice careers.

Congrats to Boone Co. Tough luck for the Breds two years in a row. NewCath's inability to feed the bigs down low hurt and the outside shots just weren't falling. Turning point in the game IMO beginning of the 4th quarter Newcath's Zach Ryan ties game with a 3 Newcath steals the ball just past mid-court Hightchew and Ryan all alone on the NewCath side, for what would have been an easy lay-up, and collide and lose the ball, BC comes right and scores. Breds could get no closer from here. Andy Miller played one heck of a game, this young man will be sorely missed. Good luck to Boone Co. at Rupp.

 

How many students does Boone County have??????? How many showed up for today's game, not counting the band????? ZERO (of course I'm being just a little facetious), but you could count on hands and maybe add in a toe or two. For a school of that size and to have such HORRIBLE support is totally a shame.

The spirit of Dean Smith lives. Boone went to the 4 corner with over 4 minutes left and only up 5. Coach McQueary played to his ball handling and free throw shooting strengths but it made for an anticlimactic finish. (Bring on a shot clock!) I would have put Pitts on the all tourney team. He played another great game today. Best of luck to the Rebels at Rupp.

I can recall some of them. Hatton - Dixie, Ruthsatz - Cov. Cath, Towles - Highlands, Rice - Holmes, Bray - Lloyd, Maniacci - Cooper, Heightchew & Schulte New Cath. Downs and Palmer - Boone County. (I am missing a couple)

 

McQueary - tourney MVP

As co-chair of the Coach McQueary Fan Club let me say I'm not surprised they won.

 

Not many coaches take a team that was 75% interior oriented one year and then go to an open-post 4 guys under 6 feet lineup and have success.

I feel the reason Boone won was due to the ball handling and free throw shooting of Pitts. Controlled the entire tempo when they had the lead late.
