Two of Boone players did the same thing before him.

I didn't see that.

I did see the Hightchew goggles. I also saw Hightchew throw a pass in the first half to a team mate at the top of the key for an open 3 and as soon as he threw the pass Hightchew ran to the other end of the court with his arm in the air pointing #1. Hightchew was well past half court with his #1 in the air when the shot missed. More than a little embarrassing IMO. And no offensive rebound for him on that one.

Really, get a life.

I just wanted to say congratulations to all of the Boone players, coaches and fans. I have defended Coach McQueary on here for several years now and I really am happy for the guy. He took alot of heat on this board several years back and I couldn't be happier for the guy. I really think this team can make a run next week. They have all the ingredients that a team needs to win a state title. I hope they can catch lightning in a bottle and bring a title back to NKY. Good luck at Rupp guys, I will be pulling for you all.

He definitely had some teams 3-4 yrs ago That were loaded with talent but also probably had people in their ear at the dinner table doubting Coach McQueary. Well this season he seems to have a solid group of kids and to have 4 starters under 6' That is just crazy.

He had better teams over the last few years than this one but it just happened to be the same time Holmes had VERY good teams. Congrats to Boone and I hope they go far.

Brady seems to ellicit a lot of responses (somewhat critical) in both football and basketball. However, you cannot take away the fact that he is one of the most outstanding athletes in this area over the past twenty years. Further while he may possess an abundance of confidence he is also one of the hardest workers and fiercest competitors anybody has had to face in all three sports. Off the field.....one of the nicest young adults you would ever meet. I think he falls into that category of when he is on your team you love him when he is not one your team you cannot stand him. Not a bad compliment to have.

Very happy for my alma mater! Congrats Rebels!

Anyone know the last time the men and women's regional championship was won by the same school in the 9th? Discussed it by a buddy last night and we went with maybe Highlands in 2001? Is that right?

It seems to be a good year in sports for Boone County. If I'm not mistaken, 3 of their teams has wond region this year. Football and both basketball teams. I've heard the baseball team in hungry to be included in the discussion.

Brady has fire in his belly and I love it.. If the kid was 3 inches taller he could play D1 in any of the 3 sports he plays..I would take Brady on my team any day..

Love Brady or not... you can't ignore him. I've thoroughly enjoyed watching his career over the last few years and the 9th Region will certainly be losing quite a fierce competitor. His game was always equal parts smarts and tough grit. When he was on the court you were always treated to some excitement. Congrats to the lad for reaching 1000 points. Nice way to cap off an awesome career. :thumb:

Excellent, excellent, excellent post G!!!

I would take Brady every day of the week to lead my team.

Congratulations to Boone County! This year was wide open and they are not who I would have thought would be the one to rise to the top. Hats off to the Rebels for playing hard as a team. They also played with class! Good luck down state.

I did not see that.

As a fan, my hopes are:

a. that Boone is not just satisfied getting to the show, because I really think they have a legitimate shot to be playing on Saturday, March 17 and once you get there anything can happen; and

b. that the long layoff between games does not affect their play once they tipoff at 1:30 on Thursday, March 15 against the 14th Region winner.

For the size of the players on their squad, they rebound extremely well and shoot around 73% from the line as a team, two of the three elements you really need to compete for the title. The third is limiting turnovers and their guards have played really well up until now and I hope it continues.

Good luck to the Rebels going forward.

They will really have to play their game and spread it out on offense, while pressuring half court on D. IF a team gets better entry service in the post than NewCath, or hits 30% of their 3s, Boone will struggle. If the game is a 3pt. game in the fourth, I like Boone.

Couldn't agree more. :thumb: What an exciting athlete. Love his game in all 3 sports. The excitement he brings to every game will definitely be missed in NKY next year.
