Good to know that just like basketball the 10th Region baseball hard liners still consider Northern Kentucky (37th District) the red headed stepchild in the area. I would bet that not a 37th District coach was contacted to put together that all star lineup and if your going to put together a group based on talking to coaches post the coaches who participated. It has taken a long time for the 37th District to be considered as equals in basketball and it just seems like it is taking a little longer in baseball?

Dixie will still have the best player in the region and they had some good young talent at the guard position who will get an opportunity to step up play. His D1 offers not withstanding but in reality they are losing only 7-8 ppg and 5 apg. Wasn't an outstanding defender for his athletic ability. For all of the hype Trammell was a better player in that system than Fox.

Potentially could take both but multiple offers to players that play the same position could be schools way of leveraging offers to get a commitment.

Not listed on the Adidas Grassroots website as one of their fully funded teams? Unless Adidas has not updated the list it does not appear they are fully funded?

Has two years to continue to grow into these offers but after watching Dixie 9-10 games last season I did not see D1 caliber PG. After hearing a lot about him in the preseason I was anticipating a little more production on the high school level. I thought their previous PG, Matt Trammel was a better player. He wasn't the best PG in the region as a previous poster indicated with Ruthsatz at CovCath being my pick but maybe as indicated the AAU game better suits his talents.

What scouts? It's high school baseball and very few college coaches have time to attend high school games.

They might as anything can happen on any given day but if your thinking is that these teams rosters are created equal that would be a mistake.

I just went and checked out their website and didn't come away very impressed and since I have been thru this process twice I think I have a pretty good handle on what is pretty legit in this area. I can guarantee you if I called tomorrow and said I had a kid I wanted to participate in the event their only instruction would be where to send the check.

Northern Kentucky represented only by the Dontel Rice invite? Can't believe Jake Burger from Holy Cross did not at least deserve an invite? MVP of All A State and a top player from the 9th along with Rice?

I had heard that McClendon and Campbell were playing with Club Ohio? Had not heard anything about Pouncy?

Didn't say there was anything wrong with second guessing! One of the great things about sports is that as spectators or parents we get the opportunity to second guess but we also aren't the ones putting the time and effort into running practices and seeing each players strengths and weaknesses on a daily basis, scouting the other teams and trying to put together a game plan to win the game. My point was actually pretty simple....the guy has a pretty good track record with a lot more wins on his resume than probably most of us on the board. At the end of the day I am going to trust that he did everything possible to give his team the chance to win the game.

Unless you happen to be Coach Carr it kinda has to be second guessing

Always easy to second guess a coach but what I know about Coach Carr is 4 consecutive District Championships prior to this year and a run of regional semifinal appearances. He did not always have the talent but always seemed to get the most of the talent he had. 15-15 record with a group of players with very limited varsity experience this season and it might have been one of his better coaching jobs to get them to that point.

There aren't many 6'4" 235 lb players in the 9th with his athletic ability. Not to mention he played basketball at a very high level his whole life. This wasn't just a football player banging bodies. Zeke had a very high basketball IQ. Not sure I buy the addition by subtraction element as he played with these guys on the hardwood for a couple of years.

Cooper just outplayed Dixie from the start of the game and withstood Dixie's run. Stansberry and Hassel spent way too much energy arguing every foul called against them. The fact that Stansberry wasn't T'd up when he fouled out showed great restraint on the officials part.

:laugh: We on BGP do love our local kids and we seem to elevate their college standing a couple of levels. Success in a watered down 9th region or even the 10th Region this season is not an indicator of ability to play at the collegiate level. College coaches see these guys in the summer events playing against better competition and while the AAU "style" might not be as fun for the purists it reveals more about the student athlete than high school. Bray is a nice athlete and has a nice year but he won't play at the D1 or D2 level.

I thought Campbell County Middle School was a neutral site? :sssh: I will take Scott by 5....55-50.

Way it was explained to me from a bat manufacturer was that they put the wooden bat and the aluminum bat on one of those Iron Mike swing robots and if the ball traveled 360' with the wooden bat the aluminum bat needed to mirror that distance.

Jake Burger had a senior year that will go a long way in helping him get over this particular loss. He hit a ton of big shots this season and played himself into POY contention. Helping your team win the All A State is a huge accomplishment. The only negative about Jake's career is that he has never had the opportunity to play in a regional game. Again just goes to show the quality of that district year in and year out.

Scott really missed senior Blake Daughtery in this game. He does a lot of things on the defensive side of the ball and the little things that don't show up in box scores. Senior leadership might have made a difference in this game that last couple of minutes. Scott's young guards played well until the last three minutes when they had some bad turnovers and some took some bad shots

#4 & #5 (Latin) should have a play in game with the winner playing #1 (Holmes)

Hope this isn't the case as this is only an evaluation period for basketball. Coaches can evaluate student athletes off campus but cannot have any conversation with athlete or parents

Mullins not in uniform and not on the bench? This was not a well played game on either side. Both coaches had a pained look on their face most of the night
