CovCath 3 Scott 2 in one of the most exciting HS baseball games I have seen in a while.

I have to get back to work and I will post stats and such....

Over the years people have asked me if CovCath was a Basketball or Football school and I also tell them, no it's a baseball school and today with CovCath 20th win of the season, it gives Coach Krump his 26th consecutive season with 20 victory or more!

Congrats Coach Krumps from your 2012 team!

This the 3rd game I have seen scott play and yes it was exciting game, last time was against brossart and I had this feeling it was the first year jitters for the coaching staff and I got some push back, now after watching this game its obvious why in the world is the whole inf in with one out corners in middle back the ground ball would have been 2ndgoing out tie game fly ball extra inn keep it simple.

First I need to congratulate the Scott Eagles hurler today #11 Jordan Pike! He had the CovCath batters confused and only gave up 5 hits 2 walks while striking out 6. The young man didn't give up an earned run but was taken out after throwing 93 pitches after six complete innings. Outstanding job Mr. Pike!

I must also make mention of CovCath hurler today, Charlie Mader! Charlie had one heck of an outing and he only gave up 1 earned run also while striking out 7 walking 4 and only allowing the Eagles batters two hits.

Over the years people have asked me if CovCath was a Basketball or Football school and I also tell them, no it's a baseball school and today with CovCath 20th win of the season, it gives Coach Krump his 26th consecutive season with 20 victory or more!

And all this time I thought Cov. Cath. was a swimming school.

Don't know what happened to my post the editor must have took a break. What I saw was 1st and 3rd with one out and the whole infield in the tying run on 3rd, if middle is back dbl play game over but that didn't happen, so now bases loaded and still one out and the whole infield in again and a 6 hopper squirts threw the 2nd baseman now its tied up with 1 out and if cch has the winning run 90ft away with less than 2 outs they will win. Great game until the coaches had to think, I thought they took the pitcher out to soon and then it was a fire drill after that. That would've been scotts season to win that game, hopefully they can learn from this and get better. Like I said before you have to do the little things to win big games and they have the talent just need to be put in better situations.

Its high school baseball and turning double plays don't happen very much. So if the infield is back they get a force and the game is tied 2-2 after the fly out and they play extra. Or you bring the infield in and try to go to 2 to 3 for a DB or get the runner at the plate. Scott was playing to win in that inning and not play for extras. I'm saying turning a double play in high school isnt the easiest play to make. I dont see anything wrong with this approach. BBBS Put on a coaches shirt and get in the dug out. COV Cath has destroyed teams this year and Scott lost to them by one run twice. Something tells me the eagles are on the right path. I say put on a coaching shirt with LOVE Brother :cool:

It wouldn't be the first time to put the shirt on but any way im not taking nothing away from scott but when you keep losing this type of a game the kids will be second guessing the coaches and when that happens you have lost control. #11 was in total control the entire game yes he threw 96 pitches but the kid friday threw 100+ unless he said he was out of gas he should have been given the chance to finish and we might not be having this conversation. Not many kids can say they went the distance and beat cch, that would look good in the scouts eyes, im done beating on the coaches just hope it gets better in taylor mill because almost don't count for much.

Completely agree. I would never play for extra innings, especially against a team that is clearly better than mine. I think the coaches made the right call in this situation. This is a good team that returns every major contributor next year and loses only a few solid role players. They will be a threat to win the region next year. Maybe that's what it will take to get BBBS off Coach Trames back.

Not on trames back just questioning the experience him and his staff has at this level, he is a great guy and im sure the kids love him but what I saw was them trying not to win, that crap of not wanting to go extra innings come on don't make excuses for them if you have a chance to win do whatever it takes and don't be happy with a 3-2 loss they might not ever get that close again, pike should have tried to finish the game unless he was done and had nothing left, if your a scott parent you might know the reason and let me know, he worked to hard for a no decision.
