Birds had em tied at 44 after being down 12. Too many turnovers against the press. Nice effort by the Birds though. Burger was impressive tonight, he plays with a ton of confidence. I Saw a Morehead State scout talking to him after the game.

Thompson is a much improved player also.

Holy Cross shot 24 free throws compared to Highlands's 6.

Game tied Towles attacks rim two guys drill him NO CALL by Loro Edginton who swallows her whistle the final 3 min of the game.

Birds definitely didnt get many attempts at the line.

HC with 19 steals and 20 pts off turnovers was the game.

First chance to see Holy Cross - no Campbell - so I still don't think I have seen Holy Cross

Holy Cross wins with no inside game while shooting 1/16 from 3 point land.

Bluebirds press break inbounds play is painful to watch. If you have seen them play, you know what I mean.

Two no calls with game tied / Birds down 2 with two minutes left were huge in the outcome.

Indians will need to shoot FT's better to move out of district and succeed in regional.

.

HC without Campbell for an entire game is simply not close to being HC. He absolutely changes them. They can be very aggressive defensively knowing he's back there to clean up. He scores inside and he comes out and hits 3s. He gets other kids looks.

HC does not know a bad 3-pointer. Most teams stop chucking after stinking it up from 3 after about 8 shots. HC just keeps chucking.

However, bad guard play against a press D makes Campbell moot.

Tough year for the Birds.

Fuller Did a nice job in Campbell's absence though collecting 9 of their 30 rebounds. He is a strong kid, I honestly think HC gives the 9th Región the Best representation with Campbell. They dont shoot particularly Well from the line or perimeter but they have solid depth and having Burger and Campbell is the Best 1-2 Punch out there.

If McClendon can start playing up to his potential they will really be a major force. I dont know where his sweet stroke went That he always had in AAU ball but if That comes back around i dont see anyone beating them in the 9th including Dixie.

On a side note the Birds JV team win an exciting thriller in OT 63-58. Sophs Brandon Hergott, Brendan Buten and Frosh Jensen Feggins had stellar games. HC's Zach Pouncy hit a 3 at the buzzer in regulation to send it to OT but That was Only after the Birds fought back from being down 12 with just under 3 min to play. It was a wild game.

Covington Holy Cross beat host Highlands 57-50 despite 16 points and 14 rebounds from Kentucky's Mr. Football, Highlands' Patrick Towles. Jake Burger, hero of the All-A Classic with a last-second shot to win the championship game, led the winners with 22 points.
