4pointplay
Birds had em tied at 44 after being down 12. Too many turnovers against the press. Nice effort by the Birds though. Burger was impressive tonight, he plays with a ton of confidence. I Saw a Morehead State scout talking to him after the game. Thompson is a much improved player also. Hope this isn't the case as this is only an evaluation period for basketball. Coaches can evaluate student athletes off campus but cannot have any conversation with athlete or parents
Porky
Game tied Towles attacks rim two guys drill him NO CALL by Loro Edginton who swallows her whistle the final 3 min of the game. Birds definitely didnt get many attempts at the line. You're not going to make excuses because of the officiating again are you? I'm starting to think the BGH is rubbing off on you. Like stinky said 2 huge no calls with game tied and Birds down 2 That would have put Towles on line. Look at the stats, he Shot zero FT's in the game. Officials didnt call it the Same on both ends but the pivotal play That changed everything was after a timeout by HC with 2 min left and the game tied they hit a kid for a wide open layup on an inbound right under their basket. That took the air out of Highlands imo. Game was called pretty Good except for the swallowed whistles at the end. With the JV game going to OT and the early SR night presentation to a few the game got started late. Maybe they just wanted to get out of there. They didnt call a fouls on Towles either with under a minute to play and he pushed a kid out of bounds scrambling for a ball under his basket. I guess That was the makeup call LOL. HC's largest lead was 16...38-22...Q, you should have stopped by the scorer's table and introduced yourself. At the very least, you could have got a copy of the stat sheet. Not sure about the time or score, but when play was stopped to fix the metal plate on the floor, you could also say HC's momentum may have diminished there as well. horst muhlmann
Holy Cross shot 24 free throws compared to Highlands's 6. ... and Highlands only made 2 of those 6. The fact that the Birds had 25 turnovers and the game was as close as it was late in the 4th is amazing.
malachicrunch
Birds need to regroup and prepare for tourney. Reg season means nothing at this point. The goal needs to be to get to the regional, and not be a one and done there.

Good point and That wont be a problem next year they are installing a brand new floor this spring. When the indians extended their lead with less than a minute left i was yelling for them to put more tape on the plate LOL.

Will depend on who they draw.

Qryche11
Much needed. It simply isn't healthy for the kids. They Did an analysis and the absorption rate is similar to concrete absorption rate. Several knee and back injuries over the past few years werent getting any ease by playing on this floor. Simpson- knee, Mcgraw-back, Grote back, Stewart-back and this year there have been a coupke kids getting treatment for lower back and knee issues. I know it dates back to at least the mid 70's

jpa2825
On a side note the Birds JV team win an exciting thriller in OT 63-58. Sophs Brandon Hergott, Brendan Buten and Frosh Jensen Feggins had stellar games. HC's Zach Pouncy hit a 3 at the buzzer in regulation to send it to OT but That was Only after the Birds fought back from being down 12 with just under 3 min to play. It was a wild game. Correct. Down 47 - 34 late in the game, HHS comes storming back wit a 17-1 run to go up 51-48. Missed front end of bonus and HC rebounds. With several fouls to give, HHS fouls twice to get clock down to under 5 seconds. Presumably not wanting to foul in the act, defense backs off and allows Pouncy to hit the 3 to send into OT. HHS showed lots of moxy to come back from that and dominate the OT. As for the Varsity tussle, 25 turnovers. 'nuff said.
