This will be a great game. The winner moves on to round three with a chace to advance to the final four..... But be fore we get carried away, I feel the Tigers will defend the home court advantage and play very stout from start to finish. Manual will pose a threat yet it will be all Tigers in the end, by at least 8....

Ballard does not have a chance..... Rocks Roll.....

Congrats to the Tigers for bringing home the State Championship and an undefeated season. Quite an accomplishment to say the least. Great job guys .....

Cov Cath was well positioned for the upset.... Up 14 - 3 at the half. If they could have matched 70% of their intensity in the first half for the second half, they would have won this game. Play calling in the first half was very good for the Cov Cath. In the second, got a little impatient with the pass and turned the ball over. Woulda/shoulda/coulda just kept driving the ball via the run and would have been in great position. Cov Cath was in the drivers seat and jumped out.... St. X jumped at the opportunity. Cov Cath was in excellent position to bring home the W. As a X fan, I see it as Cov Cath beat themselves..... My hats off to them, they played a very good game.

^ I agree. No where near No. 7 in the nation. Started the game sleeping, rolled over in the second quarter to block a punt... which resulted in NO points.... Down 14 - 3 at the half. My hats off to Cov Cath, played a very nice, inspired first half. They were helped by some key play calling as well. Really could have won this game if they wanted too..... I really mean that. I think they were waiting for X to make a charge.... X scores on its first two possesions of the second half to take lead 17 - 13. X goes for it on 4th and 1 at basically mid field with 9 minutes remaining in game. Cov Cath holds... Cov Cath is intercepted at X 21 to kill the drive. X responds with a 7 minute drive to seal the W and score again with under 3 minutes remaining.... 24 - 14 Tigers... Cov Cath on its next possession, from deep in its own territory, passes the ball right to a lineman/linebacker, and he rumbles for a score from ~15 yards out. 31- 14 Tigers.... So now you see just how close this game was..... Good Luck to Cov Cath during the playoffs. Zoller looked good in his first return after injury....

790 AM - Its the St. X call. Guys do a nice job of discussing the game and will pretty much tell it like it is. If Cov Cath is whippin the Tigers, you will here them say it..... However, it is the home call and it will be slighted towards the Tigers. Overall, a very good broadcast and enjoyable to listen too.... how about that td.....

It should be but I have not seen or heard confirmation of that....

Whats the series record? Who can name the best games for Manual, Male.... What was the wildest game? Highest scoring, team and combined score...? How about some Turkey day stories.... Come on Folks.... This is the Public " Super bowl".... Its even being moved to PJCS (nice move...). When did the game become a "rivalry"....? How about upsets..... Surly some of the Dawg and Crimson supporters can spread some light for us other guys that do have an interest in this historic matchup..... Who are some of the great HS players that participated in this rivalry...?

Best of Luck to both teams in this historic rivalry game. Not having a vested interest, kinda makes it nice for this kid to just enjoy the game..... Has Male ever had such a team as this year, with only one loss, and gone virtually all season under the radar...? Its not like they are 6 - 3 or 3 - 6...... 8 - 1 is nothing to sneeze at folks. Male has a good team, they need to rise to the occasion in the playoffs if they are to overacheive. Manual has a very good team, we have all heard about their tallent and coaching... Their defense has gained some attention of late as well. This should be a barn burner. Going with all the fan fair, one would have to say Manual is the one to win this game. I agree, they are good and they are due to win one in the series, however, the other team, coached by a guy named Redman, may have other thoughts. What a spring board it would be for the Male bunch to win this Rivalry game and go into the playoffs on a roll.... All this makes for a great game. May the best team win....

I think Cov Cath should not risk injury. They should hold all their cards for their playoff games. Risking injury to 6A power St. X could be very devastating to a thin program like Cov Cath (compared to the numbers at St. X)... I get the feeling that this game will see St. X hitting on many cylinders..... This bunch is a little hungry after the last two weeks...

A solid game, start to finish, good special teams play and NO injuries would be a great way to close out the regular season.... Let me add, Zoeller returning to form prior to his injury as well..... GO Tigers....

Placing Highlands in 6A would have made for a great football season. Highlands, Male, Manual, St. X and Trinity (+ a couple of Lexington schools) all fighting for the 6A championship..... That sounds like a lot of very good competition to me....... Excellent road trips as well....

I wonder if they play sophomores on the Freshman team and Juniors on the JV team? Being that their system works, it kinds leads credence that it must be acceptable..... :laugh::laugh::laugh:

Great point you raise. St. X has an excellent Sports Medicine Department / Rehab / Treatment Facility that is second to none. Im sure he is getting all of the therapy and treatments at St. X. If I had to guess, probably before school and after..... One has to see this facility to truly appreciate its value and contribution to the overall sports program at St. X. Rest assured that Mr. Finch will be back as soon as the healing process allows. With the treatments he is receiving, I anticipate that it will be sooner than later.....

Just for fun.... Ill ask if anyone has a problem with Junior's playing in a Freshman game...?
