Hands down Silver Grove has the worst field. There is a tree in play in right field, straight down the line in right is about 200, huge dirt mound in center field, its like a backyard game... if you hit it on top of the pavillion its a homerun, if it goes through it then its a double. I also like the playground in left center, but the best part is the artificial mound. I think they should have played there games at Pendry like they did in the past, i wonder why they moved back to the old field?

Sounds like thats the results of alot of games in the state. Most if not all games in NKY were cancelled today.

I dont see why they would want to play Williamstown since they do play Williamstown the next day...

These polls mean nothing, it comes down to who wants it more on that given day. Anything can happen and any of these teams can lose to a lesser team.

I like the move to wood bats, but i would like to NCAA pass something to where college uses wood bats only. Maybe NY will set a trend for many other states to follow.

Both teams are very solid ball clubs. I would watch out for both these teams to make a run for their region championship. With mutsch on the mound Brossart is as good as any team in NKY, if the run support is there.

Should be a good game Friday, both teams can put runs up on the board. I'd expect to see Adams or Bush for Scott. Who looks to be the probable starter for Boone?

Your correct. Beechwood beat Ryle in the JV Championship last year and this years Juniors also won the Freshman Championship two years ago against Holy Cross. Beechwood lost alot to graduation last year but with the Junior class that they have this year by no means would I consider this a rebuilding year. Coach Myerhoff has a great pitching staff with Elliot, Bankemper, Hadden, Gohs (all Juniors). Good Luck to Beechwood in the All A State. I believe they will play the winner of the 8th region, anyone know who that might be?

It's offical Beechwood wins 3-0 against Holy Cross. A real pitchers dual. Beechwood plays game with 9 players as the rest of the team plays in a tournment in Bardstown. Elliot goes the distance for Beechwood giving up two hits and striking out 10+. Holy Cross pitcher ???? pitched well but Beechwood was able to come up with key hits with runners on. Great game.

Great game and i think the tigers suprised some people with how well they played for having no seniors in the starting lineup and only 1 returning starter.

I dont think i have seen a better game this year. Neck and neck down the finish and great defense by duran jefforson on bovard at the end of regulation. Arrez had a great night and rice did a great job of hitting 2 very big free throws to tie it up with under a minute left.

I just saw Beechwood's schedule for this upcoming season and you talk about tough... It seems like every non conference or non district game they have is against top teams in the region/state. These include (Paul Dunbar twice, Louisville Male, Appollo, Bishop Brossart, St. Henry, and a few tournaments that will have more good teams.) There state run last year must have drawn in some good teams. They are a very young team, we will see what they can do.

The 34th was a decent district 2 or 3 years ago with Beechwood, but since they moved to the 35th it has become weaker. Villa had a nice season last year and they could suprise someone. I still think Dixie is the best team with Lloyd 2nd.

Should be a great game with an awesome atmosphere since both schools will bring big student sections. Last time these teams played it was a very close game @Highlands. I think CCH gets off to a good start and never looks back. CCH by 18.

If we open this thread up to NKY you can definantly add Arrez Henderson, and Greg Rice from Holmes. Henderson at 6'0" can get up there with ease. But Darius Miller is the best dunker i have seen out of the 10th.

If holmes doubles down on Keirnan then i dont see him getting double digits in points. I don't think Keirnan will be that successful against the bulldogs mainly b/c Holmes is VERY ATHLETIC and they have gaurds such as Hill and Henderson that can rebound just as well as Keirnan can. I would like to see Holmes press NCC and get into a running game because NCC doesnt go very deep... With that said i think Holmes wins 63-47

Cov Cath was shooting 3's in the last couple of minutes in the game, but i dont know if they were trying to make a point. I think beating somebody by 40 is plenty. I think Cov Cath had 86 when there was a timeout called with 5 minutes left. I think the kids wanted to get to the 100 mark. And the comment about hall shooting 3's late in the game, isn't he primarly just a 3pt shooter, but i do agree, shouldnt be shooting 3's when your up by that much, goes for both teams.

The 35th will be very tough. To think that one of those 3 teams wont even make it to the region tournament is crazy. Overall i dont think the 9th is that great. Ryle will be loaded this year with about 15 seniors, and St. Henry should be a good team that could possible win the region.

Tonight shows that Holmes has other players that can also play well at the varsity level. Jemel Riley has great potential and showed that he can hit the big shots tonight. The future is looking good for him, and as a sophomore he has a lot of time to improve.

After hearing about Edmondson the last couple weeks i have a great idea for the teams who play Gallatin. Double team Nate just like cov cath did against Hill. I dont have the best basketball IQ but you need to gaurd Edmondson tightly down the stretch. This kid is very clutch.
