Anez Henerson, I believe he had 27 tonight

 

Just walked in the door, unbelievable high school basketball game. Don't be fooled by the score as it did go into OT. CCH was down all night and had a tremendous 4th quarter to take the lead with under a minute. After Holmes tied it up CCH had the last shot to win. With 17 seconds left it was left up to Bovard who unfortunately got off a horrible off balance shot.

 

Cov Cath was hurt by poor point guard play all night and had numerous posession specificall in the first half where the ball was turned over before ever getting a shot off. Holmes came up huge though neer the end of regulation and OT when they must have made 20 free throws. This was one of their achilles heals all year but they were absolutely clutch tonight when it counted. Not seeing the official stats my guess is they were around 20 for 22 in the 4th and OT

Congrats to the Colonels as well and to the Seniors Todd, Kurt and Brandon who all played their heart out tonight and to Billy who unfortunately had to watch the season from the bench. You guys gave us a bunch of great memories over the last 3 years it's just a shame it did'nt end at Rupp

The downside is that CCH loses 4 quality young men - on and off the floor. I know 3 of them well and hate to see them end their season like this but its a testament to them that they Colonels had the success they had over their 3 years on the squad.

 

The upside is NKY was introduced to Luke Maile. He played like a man tonight and was the only inside presence on the boards for the Colonels. He blocked shots. He got rebounds. He altered shots. He scored.

Awesome atmosphere for a high school game tonight in Covington. Congrats to both teams. Covcath played with tremendous heart and kept their heads up the whole game despite being down 12 at one point. So kudos to you guys.

 

As for the game, Holmes just wore the Colonels down in OT. Arrez henderson was an absolute man tonight and he's only a junior! A little selfish play by the Dwags tonight but they got it done when it mattered. I've said all year CCH wouldn't beat Holmes on their home floor and even predicted Holmes winning region after last year, and I was right.

 

Represent the 9th well young men.

 

CCh fans, we'd love to have you all down there helping cheer us on. Without you all tonight the atmosphere wouldn't have been anything like it was. Hopefully a few of you can make it down to Rupp as well.

Arrez and Simpson battling for POY next year will be fun.

Great game! Good luck Holmes in the Sweet Sixteen. Colonels hold your heads up high. Two trips to Rupp in your four years is something to be proud of. Seniors Bo, BB, Billy and TJ, it will be strange watching CovCath next year without you guys on the floor. Thanks to both teams for four great games this season, all were outstanding match ups......

Turning point for CCH when down 12 was the insertion of Brandon Brown. That is one tough hombre.

 

DJ is one of the best PGs I've seen in a while when it comes to the draw and dish in the lane. Its uncanny. However, when he lays down tonight and says his Thanks Yous, one thing he will say is "thank you, Lord, for me never having to go against Brandon Brown. That kid wears me out." I'll miss watching that battle next year.

I dont think i have seen a better game this year. Neck and neck down the finish and great defense by duran jefforson on bovard at the end of regulation. Arrez had a great night and rice did a great job of hitting 2 very big free throws to tie it up with under a minute left.

Arrez and Simpson battling for POY next year will be fun.

 

Grimes played bad tonight but he will be in this conversation also.

 

The year after that watch out for Maile and McFarland.

I have no rooting interest in this one, but I will miss the Cov. Cath. student section in Rupp this year.

Congratulations to Holmes, but don't enjoy it too much: you have bigger things at hand.
