At the time they were 9th, so yes it belongs to the 9th even though we've departed.

I agree that "You had to switch it us some". But at the same time I think that Listerman chose the lesser of two evils.

 

1. Holmes can beat you off the dribble v Man to Man

2. Holmes can beat you on the offensive glass v Zone

 

Holmes absolutly dominated St. Henry on the boards and eventually they took advantage and made some easy ones and took control. St. Henry was in the game for 32 minutes; CCH was in it for 36 minutes.

I think he stuck with his bread and butter (the man 2 man) and did not try and throw a curve ball. He had the formula obviously, beating Holmes 3x, but the chips did not fall.

 

Holmes absolutely dominated CovCath on the offensive glass vs. the man to man.

Since you are such an expert on what defenses to play I would love to know why you didn't bash Coach Listerman when he beat Holmes so many times the past years (or did you?). Do you always just bash coaches when they loose or that is the only time you speak out. What is Coach Listermans record against Holmes? Enough said! Always amazes me how many experts there are on here when a coach looses. Sure Faust is a good coach and there are many in Northern Ky., including Coach Listerman. What coach Faust showed Coach LIsterman the other night was how to blow a lead and loose. Coach Listerman's decision to play his style brought him back from being down 12 to a 2 point lead with less than a minute. Sometimes things are not meant to be. Great job Coach Listerman! How does he do it without the help of people like you on his bench advising him.

 

When Holmes's players were missing or injured, CovCath had a more talented team, and won (although barely). Holmes had its players back Tuesday, the talent was so close, and CovCath didn't adjust. Who's fault is it that CovCath lost, the players? It seems from this post that it would be impossible for anyone to ever outcoach CovCath.

Very few teams in the state can match up with Holmes athletically i.e. offensive rebounding, going off the dribble, 1 on 1 o and d; CCH was no different. Watching both the St. Henry game and the CCH game vs Holmes I don't know the exact stats but St. Henry got "absolutly dominated", CCH just "dominated" if that makes any sense. Does anyone know the offensive rebounding stats??? I may be wrong... but imo it felt that way as I watched

 

Zone or man they were going to get beat on the o boards... how badly is up for debate vs the man or zone... I'd prefer to lose with what I do best and have practiced all year. For CCH that's M2M

Check yourself wiwi. After you called me out saying "I only bash a losing coach" I went back and did some research. I did point the finger at Listerman after a close game against Holmes early this year. Maybe not for playing man 2 man, but I did think it was a close game because of him. Its not my first time criticizing him. I really like Coach L as a person and think he does a great job at CCH. But I sometimes question his gameplaning, substitution patterns, and working of the officials.

 

I know your the "new guy" and probably don't know, but for personal reasons I am a fan of St. Henry and CCH. But more than that I'm a high school basketball fan and that is what this site is for. If your going to take it so personal when a coach or a player or a team gets criticized then you might want to not read all the threads.

They could have done a few things differently, but you kidding yourself if you don't think Holmes won because they were the better team. Give credit to the boys from St. Henry. To get OUT coached, you need to coach...yelling at refs, running kids in and out, and screaming cliches at crunch time doesn't qualify...

Watched the game on ICN-6. I cant see where anyone got outcoached by not playing zone. Cov Cath did a great job to get back and tie the game. I credit Holmes win to their tough D and their ability to nail crucial free throws down the stretch. Holmes won the game. Holmes proved themselves to be the best team in the region when it mattered. It is not anyones fault. Only one team can win and Cov Cath has won most of the matchups with Holmes the last three years. Not impossible to beat Cov Cath by local teams, just not many have done it over the last few years, that's all. Bishop Brossart a couple times, St Henry this year. Why do you have to put fault on someone on a loss. IT HAPPENS, just not that much to Cov Cath recently.

Not the NEW GUY, I have been on here a long time, just don't post many times. I don't take any of this personal I find it comical that there are so many experts who seem to have all the answers. I am curious Crusader, you stated St. Henry could have done things differently since you posted that. Can't wait to hear you critique Coach Faust. St. Henry, Cov Cath and Holmes all played their butts off. The best team won, period. By the way what was Cov Caths record against Holmes the past three or four years???? Hmmm, Coach Listerman must have been making some good decisions? OK OK, you have always bashed Listerman. Can't wait to hear your expert advise on Coach Faust and what he should have done differently.

Yea I watched. The man-man produced a tie 60-60 at the end of regulation. Whats wrong with that. I saw the better team win the game. Do you really blame coach Listerman for the loss. Or do you think the fact that Holmes hit just about every free throw in OT had something to do with it? As of right now Listerman is the best coach with the best "program in the 9th region". I have a feeling they will be competing for the regional title again next year. Give Holmes their due for a great accomplishment. They won. nough said!
