Guess so :thumb: It's good that this post hasn't gotten out of control and everyone is showing class toward one another's school. Kudos to you guys.

 

As i've said all year this region would go through CCH and Holmes and neither school disappointed us. Holmes was just finally able to get it done on their home floor, something that CCH had done during the regular season. Biggest difference is Holmes got it done on their home floor when it mattered.

 

Good luck to all of the CCH seniors. You young men have given us Holmes fans fits for the past three years. Nothing to be ashamed of. I know each and every one of those Holmes players respect you more than any team they've probably faced since they've played together. In a way, you guys kind of taught them a lesson that they need to play as a TEAM if they want to accomplish their goals as well. :thumb:

Did you notice after the games the hugs and talking back and forth between the CCH guys and the Holmes guys. These kids come from very different worlds but I can tell you from Cov Cath's side that there's no one they respect more and have had more fun playing against. Durran gave big hugs to Bo, BB and TJ who he's played against and with on AAU and summer teams for a long, long time. Class game by the kids and class comments afterwards, Good luck Dawgs end the 9th Region draught !!!!!

Interesting fact in the Post today: The region tourney was the first time Holmes had their starting 5 in tact from the opening tip to the end of the game.

So with that said, if the "book" on Holmes is to play a zone and in the words of hsrb the game was "begging for a CCH zone, what does this say about Listerman(s)?

 

On a side note, all of CCH's wins against Holmes in the past two years came on neutral or home court. Not once did they beat the Dawgs in Covington.

ya know i saw the game... and what i came away thinking is the same thing I thought the other time I saw a Holmes game earlier this year( yes, I will say I have only seen them twice) but it seems to me, no disrespect meant to Hill, but Henderson is their best player. He is good on the drive, his athletic ability, especially his defense, and it seems to me that he does something that Holmes struggles with sometimes, and that is know what you need on the offensive end. When CCH made a run and Holmes was kind of in a panic mode, instead of taking some jumpshot when they weren't falling for the Bulldogs, he ran the offense and went to the basket to finish or get fouled. Plays undercontrol and smart most of the time... I think he is the best player on Holmes roster...

I have to agree with you. Henderson is probably the most all around player on the team on both sides of the ball. Hill is either really hot or really cold, but helps his team out by playing good defense. Hill's only problem is he needs to know when and when not to try to do everything himself. But don't get me wrong, Hill is an outstanding player and leads by example with his leadership.

I'd say Hill is the best player, but he rarely gets the ball. I guess Henderson just complements Jefferson a lot better.
