Maybe if they had 22 Pat VanSants playing. Highlands is light years ahead of cov. cath.

The answer to your first question would depend who you talk to. There are definately two sides to that one. Everyone will believe what they want. Nepotism? Got me. I am sure Coach Listerman had his reasons for doing what he did and it is none of my business or yours. May want to ask Coach Listerman himself. Pressure? There are always people who aren't happy about this or that and they tend to be be a lot more vocal. When it was all said and done Coach Listermans supporters spoke up and were heard (not on this site but where it counts), as we all know he is there to stay. Enough said. I simply spoke up to many of the foolish shots people were taking at Coach Listerman. It is always interesting to see how many experts there are on this site and in the stands. Coach Listerman has done a remarkable job but more importantly he is a good guy doing things the right way. What's his record again? Oh yea, just a few percentage points behind the legend Mote Hills.

I will ask a question much like yours are asked, because I don't know. Surely Mr Shrand has got to be coaching somewhere, where might that be? Help me out, I don't know.

Spin it any way you want. You are a riot. You are giving Mr Schrand way to much credit. He was the JV coach who happens to sit on the varsity bench. This was and is Listermans team. Listerman keeps winning no matter who his assistants are. Look at his record.

Surely you can't be serious. You can quit hoping and wondering if Coach Schrand leaving had anything to do with Cov Cath continuing on with a great season this year and last. Listerman runs a Basketball machine. Every single year they compete with the best and always have impressive records.

Not stupid enough to mention names here. But if you look outside your little bubble you will find them, they are everywhere. Take off the blinders and talk to more than just the few unhappy people and you will be surprised. Lots of people can sit in the stands and critique what coaches do, most of these type have no clue, but it is really cool to sit in the stands and bad mouth the coach and make sure everyone hears you.

You will always have those parents who think their kids should get more playing time etc. It is everywhere. Kids transfer all the time. Listerman does a remarkable job with a bunch of average talented kids. When was the last time anyone from Cov Cath has gone on to play Bball at a big school.

Too funny. I am very close to many many players who respect Listerman both as a coach and a person. Nice try once again.

Great effort, great game by the both teams. Two very good teams coached by two very good coaches. When is the last time a team posted a record as good as this years Bulldogs? Speaking of records!!!! Coach Listermans record at CCH - 186 wins - 54 losses (.775 winning percentage) Second only to Mote Hills at CCH - 195 wins - 52 losses (.789 winning percentage)

Great job by Coach Listerman. Had his team well prepared against a very very good Highlands team. Drew up some good plays to get easy baskets at crunch time against a very good Highlands press. The guy just keeps winning. Good luck Colonels.

Maybe Kevin left because he didn't want to deal with this kind of stuff. You know, the people who have never coached but have all the answers, the people who have never played a minute but know it all, the people who scream and yell at refs and don't know the rules, and the people who listen to others and don't know any better than to jump on the "Bash Coach Listerman" bandwagon.

This is your typical example of some parents and fans thinking that their sons or players are better than they really are. Sometimes when parents send their sons to CCH and they donate some money they feel they should have a say in everything that goes on, who the coach is, what kind of offense is run, on and on and on..... I just looked up records on the CCH site. They speak for themselves. Mote Hils 1963-1971 195-52 .789 Dick Maile 1971-1975 66-46 .589 George Schneider 1975-1985 164-122 .573 Dan Tieman 1985-2000 313-146 .682 Mike Listerman 2001 - Pres 165-46 .782 .782 before this year!! That's impressive. Mote Hills was .789. So I guess Mike Listerman is the only coach listed here who benefitted from having talented kids. The argument that he should have won more with what he had is a crock. Cov Cath is a great school and it is this type of stuff that is embarrassing for Alumni. Please know for every person that says something negative about Mike Listerman there 10 times as many in support of him. Thanks to Mike LIsterman for a job well done.

No one cares if they agree! Ryan Schrand's only connection at CCH is he coached a few years. It didn't work out, let it go, move on for crying out loud. He didn't go to school there.

Not the NEW GUY, I have been on here a long time, just don't post many times. I don't take any of this personal I find it comical that there are so many experts who seem to have all the answers. I am curious Crusader, you stated St. Henry could have done things differently since you posted that. Can't wait to hear you critique Coach Faust. St. Henry, Cov Cath and Holmes all played their butts off. The best team won, period. By the way what was Cov Caths record against Holmes the past three or four years???? Hmmm, Coach Listerman must have been making some good decisions? OK OK, you have always bashed Listerman. Can't wait to hear your expert advise on Coach Faust and what he should have done differently.

It is not anyones fault. Only one team can win and Cov Cath has won most of the matchups with Holmes the last three years. Not impossible to beat Cov Cath by local teams, just not many have done it over the last few years, that's all. Bishop Brossart a couple times, St Henry this year. Why do you have to put fault on someone on a loss. IT HAPPENS, just not that much to Cov Cath recently.
