Stats for the game.

You will notice that the starters only played a little over or a little under a half for the game.

Jacobx.. 15pts and played 16:46

Bovard.. 07pts and played 17:29

Bondick. 05pts and played 14:51

Maile.... 14pts and played 13:52

Noll...... 09pts and played 16:57

The big man of the night was Junior guard Chis Roll who scored 19pts on 8/10 from the floor, and 3/5 from behind the arch. Also coming big off the bench was Sophmore Mitch Shover who scored 12pts.

CovCath shot 23/34 67.6% from the floor in the second half and an amazing 66.7% from behind the arch in shooting 8/12 in the second half.

Up next for CovCath..... Cov Holmes at CovCath......

Colonels didn't play well in the first half. Coach L must have peeled some paint at halftime.

Let's see, they were leading by a score of 42/25 at half that 17pts.....and were holding Beechwood to 34.5% from the floor and 36.4% from behind the arch while shooting 59.3% from the floor and 50.0% from behind the arch. Right, Coach L must have been really upset with the Colonels for only hitting nearly 60% from the floor.

While you want to play a team like Beechwood in the first round of the District, it's tough to play at the level that the CovCath starters did tonight when the other team just doesn't match up at all.....against them..... It's very tough indeed to keep your mind in this kind of game....and the Colonels did I think a rather good job tonight......

Stats may have been fine, but they were rather lethargic to begin the game.

CovCath hitting on all cylinders on offense, Holmes players talking about defense in the article in the Enquirer. Talk about your role reversals! Should make for a classic matchup in the finals!

I am a Beechwood grad but I will ask the question, did CCH run up the score?

I know how good CCH is and I realize Class A basketball in NKY is not very good but this is a lot of points and I have to wonder if there isn't a subplot or two I am not aware of here?

Excellent question and one I was wondering the moment I saw the score last night.

I asked the same question how do you put up 100 points. I was told by someone that was at the game CovCath was up by 60 points, pressing and had two of their starters still well in the fourth quarter. I could not beleive what I heard as CovCath's coach is a real good coach and can not see him doing this. Again I was not at the game and I am just repeating something I heard. JD

Without knowing anything further, I'm going to assume that Listerman is making sure that his team is ready to play a full game, and the only way to do that is to play hard for a full game, sorry to the other team. However, that appears on its face to be a weak argument given the margin of victory. Seems to me that some dogs should have been called off in the 4th.

I wasn't at the game but there were no starters playing in the 4th quarter. As a matter of fact, one kid played a lot and hit some shots despite this being the first time he dressed varsity.
