Holmes should be a big favorite in this game although Beechwood did play Cov Cath close for the first 3 quarters. Does Beechwood have a shot? predictions and thoughts?

Beechwood just got a transfer from Indiana, i believe he is a sophomore and a pretty good ball player. Somebody told me that he is a switch hitter, that is rare in high school. This could help the tigers out even though they already are returning 8 starters.

Beechwood was horrible from the free throw line tonight, they had to have shot under 50% from the line. Trey Beutel played well for the tigers and it seemed like Maile had his way down low drawing numerous fouls and scoring with ease. The tigers suprised me the first half as i thought by then it would be a 15 point lead for the colonels. I did enjoy the "sic wit da ball" chant by the CCH student section when a certain player had the ball. lol

Holy Cross has a tough first round game against Beechwood. Beechwood may suprise some people this year, should be a great first round game. Also look for a good game between NCC and Newport, Newport has alot of talent and if they all play together they can upset the breds.

Bad draw for the teams in the upper bracket. The lower side is much weaker. I see NCC and St. Henry in the finals with NCC winning.

Beechwood will most likely be without Romes against the colonels as he went down with an ankle injury in the 2nd quarter of the Bellevue game tonight. Hate to see him be injured for this game. BHS-52 CCH-76

Beechwood usually goes 8 or 9 deep. They have some depth at the PF spot. There starting lineup likes to get the ball and run, they will try to beat you through fast break points. Im not sure of Bellevue's hieght but Beechwood has not done well against teams with 6'4+ big men. They have got out rebounded by alot in there 2 losses this year against Newport and Boone co.

Im sure Coach Rash and the players would love to play better competition than Dayton, Ludlow, and Bellevue, but you have to play those games. The question of if he can handle the job over at Moe can be dropped as Rash said in front of a large crowd at the football banquet after the state game that he is staying at Beechwood. But go ahead and talk about the "what if's"...

I like the last reason:lol: The tigers have the size on the line and 2 great backs in Bankamper and Tiepel to run it down LCA's throat, not to mention an extremely fast QB in Elliott who can hurt you running just as much as passing. Im not sure about this but i thought i saw Amelung getting a few carries in the Frankfort game. So if the tigers get in wishbone again and hand it off to Bankamper, Tiepel, Amelung, or even Davis, and even qb sneak with Elliott, the tigers should control this game. I cant imagine LCA having a line near the size that of Beechwoods. Tigers roll in this game, expect to see 75-90% of the plays runs. Beechwood- 38 LCA- 13

Highlands will win against Bowling Green imo. Nobody has stopped highlands yet and i dont see it happening friday.

CCH-34 Dixie-28

Last nights game turned out to be a great one when many thought that it was over at the end of the 3rd quarter. NCC dominated the 3rd quarter and the Beechwood fans were very quiet. The 4th quarter Bwood scores 2 td within 6 min and the momentum had completely changed. It came down to turnovers and Bwood couldn't make a big play at the end. I must say, ive never seen so many snaps taken from shotgun throughout all 15+ years of this rivalry. Good win for NCC and i see both teams having a great chance to win state in there divisions.

Its great to see 3 players alone from the 9th region signing D1 already. Im sure there will be many more players to sign, congrats you guys.

I'm sure this will be a classic as all the other games between these 2 teams have been. You cant ask for a better game than last years as it came down to the final drive with Beechwood getting a TD called back on an illegal man down field penalty to lose the game and end there season. NCC comes off a close game against campbell, maybe there defense will struggle a little bit with Elliott and tiepel... I havent heard much about NCC offense, all the talk has been about the D. How is Highlands pitching? Do they have anybody other than Towles that can win a big game?

Beechwood's students have been warned many times this year for there cheering and yelling. Personally i think its great that they get a great turn out for the games and they should be allowed to cheer. It is similar to basketball, you have your home court advantage. There are no rules in basketball saying you cant yell during a free throw, so let the students yell all they want during a serve.

They probably wont have a great chance against Holmes or Cov Cath but do you see them giving holy cross any trouble?

It looks as if it will be very similar to last year. Beechwood, Cov Cath, and Ryle will be the favorites. Look for Dixie to possibly make some noise.
