  1. Beechwood will not throw Elliott against Boone, I can promise you that. 100% gaurantee. Beechwood is the better team and I wouldn't be suprised to see Snyder, Hadden, and Larimore split this game 2 or 3 innings a piece. If I'm Beechwood's coach Ii throw those 3 monday, Smith Tuesday, and have Hadden and Snyder in relief for Ellliott on Wed. But they have to get there first.
  2. Ill take Beechwood in this one. They are a better all-around team and with Elliott on the mound they shouldn't need many runs to win. I dont think Roenker will hold the tigers to 1 run like he did the last time. The tigers hitting that night was a fluke and they have been exposed to much better pitching and are ready for Roenker.
  3. You do realize that Beechwood won, therefore i dont think that they would be making excuses for a win... Doesn't make sense with your sarcasm post, it would if Beechwood lost, but they didnt.
  4. Oh you dont have the names? Thats not like you CCH24;) just kidding. It seems like NCC can beat "average" teams in the 9th but can't get the big win or even contend against the "top notch" teams.
  5. Campbell going farther than Ryle in the region? I disagree with that statement, if Campbell Co. doesn't win against Brossart i dont see them getting out of districts since they will play Brossart again or Scott 1st round.
  6. I think Beechwood can throw about 5 different pitchers out there against Holy Cross and still have a great chance to win. There pitching is deep and they definantly wont be without pitching come region if they get there.
  7. True, but I would take Elliott over Roenker any day of the week. Beechwood should have the advantage in the district game with Elliott on the mound.
  8. Hadden pitched the first 3 innings, 6 strike outs and giving up only 1 earned run. Smith came in to pitch in the 4th inning. Sloppy game by Beechwood as they had 10 errors in the game.
  9. Things went Beechwood's way the first 4 innings, then the dreaded 5th inning killed them and Cov Cath got a few bloops to fall in and rallys back. Cov Cath put up 5 in the fifth. Beechwood down 1 in top of 7th, get a runner on base. Balk called, runner to 2nd, 2 outs. Gohs hits hard ground ball to SS, Holocher throws it wild allowing the runner to score. In the bottom of the 8th, bases loaded 2 outs. A very weakly hit ball up the middle, SS and 2nd basemen cant get it to 2nd in time, Cov Cath scores the winning run, ball game. Elliott pitched well for the first 4 innings, but his pitch count got high and he began to tire in the 5th. I think he threw over 95 pitches in just 4 2/3 innings. Can't wait to see a rematch in the future.
  10. Get 10 passenger vans for sports travel. Save gas there.
  11. Who will be on the hill for CCH? Niehous or Nutini???
  12. Smith beat himself that inning. From there on he threw the ball well and for strikes and they only ended up with 2 hits. Its amazing what happens when a pitcher throws strikes:sssh:. Conner had a few well hit balls to the outfield, but a lot of fly outs. I had only seen Conner once before this, and this was against Cov Cath. I dont know if they just had an off day at the plate or maybe they were just hitting really well against Cov Cath. Connor was solid defensively but Beechwood just found the holes.
  13. Beechwood's bats woke up today, they put up a good amount of runs against a pretty good pitcher. They had good consistant hitting posting 12 runs in the 5 inning game. Smith threw for the Tigers, had a rough first inning walking 5 but got out of it giving up 2 runs. The Cougars only got 2 hits on the day. Beechwood makes a statement today, as many thought Conner would win this game. I can't wait for Thursday!:dancingpa
  14. Beechwood bats are still in a slump, only putting up 5 runs against Dixie. (Nichols did not pitch) If they only do that much to Dixie's pitching then i dont see them hitting much this game. If Cov Cath puts up 5 i say they win the game. I don't know if CCH hitting has come around yet, but they will need a strong pitching performance for this game because I dont see Cov Cath scoring many runs off of Elliott.
  15. You seem to be implying that Conner is the favorite in this game? I thought Beechwood was ranked higher and would be the favorite?
  16. I am pretty sure Elliott will be starting for the Tigers, it only makes sense. Will Cov Cath throw Nutini?
  17. I would say that pitching is their strong point. The most runs they have given up this year in a game is 7 and that was against Bullitt East and aided by 3 errors. After looking at the scoreboard here on BGP and todays Dixie Game they have given up 28 runs in 10 games. 2.8 runs per game given up is very, very, good in high school. The weak point is there hitting and in order to win big games they are going to have to hit.
  18. Oh you don't want another double forfeit? I don't think that will happen this time. Beechwood will have Elliott on the mound but the question is, who do they have in relief? They have a tough week, playing Dixie Monday, Conner Tuesday, and then Cov Cath Thursday. I think this is a pitchers dual, not many runs, good defense, and a lot of excitement.:dancingpa
  19. Conner, Holy Cross, and NCC are the 3 that stick out. NCC has been up and down all year but did make it to the All A finals.
  20. If i understand correctly, Beechwood had A LOT of pitching available for that game, and they could have gone with Elliott, Hadden, or Snyder after Smith was pulled. You cant say Elliott did a bad job, he just had one pitch get away from him. That intentional walk that the coaching staff called for with 1 out and runners on 2nd and 3rd came back to bite them.
