I know this is a coach's poll but how in the world does Red Bird get 6 points?

 

I just looked at the KHSAA Scoreboard site and it shows them having only starting their season just a few days ago, how can someone really tell how good they are plus none of their results have been called in. They've been scheduled to play Riverside Christian and Cumberland with CHS being the only team that has a good baseball past. Just a thought.

I don't really pay attention to these polls until later in the season. When you have the team that ended up at number 22 with a vote for first then you kind of see how realistic they are.

Dixie Heights is there and no Ryle? This doesn't sound too good of a list.

Although I understand they beat a good Badin team, how does Cov Cath move up from 24th to 17th after a loss at Conner?

Ryle has one decent win and a bunch of "close-but-no-cigar" losses. They are right where they should be - completely unranked and off the list. When they start meaningfully hitting the ball, they will see their name there. And if they don't start hitting, they will be watching Boone and Conner represent their district in the Regionals.

Harrison defeated GRC 5-1 and drop out of the top while GRC is listed on the top 25 poll. This is unreal.

True. You also have a lot of buddy system stuff going on. In other words, I'll vote for you, if you vote for me.

 

Also, in some district games, you'll have some solid teams with losses to lesser teams IF those respective districts do not use the regular season to seed their teams for post season. When the regular season means absolutely nothing, why show a potential post season team what you really have? I know the 63rd District uses a blind draw for post season play. It's hard to judge some teams because of this ludicrous way of doing things.

Ryle is 2-6. Any team with a .250 winning % should not be up there.

I do not understand how Covington Catholic is number 17 in the state. But I guess you have to throw in somebody from the 9th. There are about 7 teams that can compete for the 9th region championship it looks like right now. Cov Cath is over rated though.

Don't take it too harsh, these polls are just good to look at. Harrison is the better team as of April 10th... Probably getting a little pub from last season still.
