Anyone catch this game?

Yeap. Boone's pitching was less than elegant today, to say the least. 6 or more walks, 3 or 4 HBP, and throw in 3 errors, too. Only 2 hits, one a Mark Reed solo shot over the right field wall. Corey hit 3 balls hard, but all were caught.

But, that being said SK took every advantage of the opportunities they were given and played add-on all day long. Also, unlike yesterday's 6 error performance they were solid today defensively.

Jacob Robinson the hitting star today for SK with a single, double, and HR. He scored 2 and drove in 3, I think.

SK's lefty starter (sorry I do not have his name) was very effective until relieved in the fifth. The bullpen took care of business from there.

Kind of suprising, this seems to be a different Boone ball club then years past. Good win for SK though.

 

What is the Rebebls record now? Was this their first lost of the season?

Don't know about you web, but when a kid lines a ball off an infielders glove, I've always scored it an error. But the Old Guy was sitting with Ryne Ernst and I guess thet decided to give him a single. LOL

Talked to Cory the other day, he said he's a little disappointed in his

teams pitching so far. Nick Houlehan is the only one who has shown

consistency on the mound. Everyone else is still trying to find their

zone. He gets a pretty good workout most games chasing and blocking the

balls he's pitched. He stays focused working on catching fundamentals

and hitting with a bigger 34" bat this year. He is working on staying

on top and driving the ball. He said his numbers may change because of

the new bat, but, he is working to maintain what he has in the past.

Hitting all winter is a little different than facing live pitching.

Especially, since the teams aren't giving him a lot. I asked what he's

done to prepare for the 34". He has taken a lot of cuts and worked out

in the gym. Before the season began he was up to 300 bench and 460

squat. He said the legs could have gone more, but, he did not want to

push it so close to the beginning of the season. He said he wants to

see his team perform better. But, he is working to be well prepared for

Midland and UK.

Boone will not get out of their district without pitching. They had to put up 15 runs to squeak past St. Henry! I am not taking anything away from St. Henry but Boone should have beaten them by a marginal amount. The pitching really has to step up or this team is going nowhere.

So, HS is boring to him??? It has to be. How do you get motivated for what has to be like intramural ball.
