I agree, Whitley has gotten better and they will continue to improve! Win this one easliy, they name the score. I am one who is interested in seeing the clay county game, that will be for the title. However, I don't think it will matter once any team in this area gets to region, just about impossible, to win region, districts are nice, regions are nicer!

I agree with Volsfan! I don't know what type of team Madison Southern has, so I will not make a prediction! However, I know the team that Williamsburg has, young, but I have noticed more and more plays are being made by the young ones, such as Lowrie! A good week of practice and keep improving on what Williamsburg needs to do, that will cure most things, a win always helps to though.

Cumberland is a good team! No Doubt about it! I am very curious to see if Williamsburg has the heart to keep fighting! I believe that they do, I have never seen them quit, even towards the end of the game, kids were playing hard, just out of position, or even a little intemidated, but as others have said there will be better days, just got to keep playing and working, the staff will do a great job, getting this team ready!

I agree with this guy here, there is no one outside of Bell Co. that can compete with N. Ky. They just have more kids, more speed, probably not as much strength, but more speed. Did I mention they have more speed, oh yeah, they have more speed. You can see my point, but everyone in the SE Ky. should be content going to the second and even third round of the playoffs. Called this one, I finally got one right! Look for the colonels to win 5 to 6 more game this year, if they don't I will be suprised! By the way Go Big Blue!

I thought Whitley showed improvement, and I think that they will win tonight. Whitley is slow and weak compared to 5A schools outside of their district, that again is not knock on them, it is fact? When other schools have 60 to 70 on varsity and 20 to 30 on JV/Fresh, it is hard to compete. I am sorry if that makes people mad, I meant no offense by it, also I am sorry that I did not give Newport credit, they are in 2A, and I am proud that they would come and compete against a 5A, and nearly win! Whitley wins going away 27 to 13 or maybe 35 to 13

I think Whitley will win, no offense to N.L., there just not that sound yet, they are improving, I can not tell if Whitley is improving,they made plays last week, but Newport (no offense) is not that strong in single A. But the most important part is that Whitley did make plays, that is a positive, I don't care if they did play a weak opponent, so they should have confidence this week, and come ahead, but I thought the same thing against the worst Middlesboro team, I have seen in the last five years

I would say that the burg had the JV team out against Whitley but hey what do you call a sophmore QB and the entire recieving core being Fresh and Soph. What does matter is that the Burg will always have high expectations, not concerned with no offense a program that never will amount to a hill of beans, sorry if that offends some, but I am leaving this topic where it should be left, by the dumpester :thumb:

I agree with APEX! Why do people keep score or trophies if it doesn't matter, that reminds me how many state titles does whitley have, wait that is too big of a goal, how many region titles, wait again to big, how many district titles, wait to big, how many one A schools can they beat? Truth is whitley will be better, now that they are in a smaller district, they should win!

I don't know if the coach's have truely decided on an offensive style yet, from what I have heard it will be more than likely a hodgepodge of things, you know a little of this and a little of that! Good luck to them, they should win their district this year!

What are the facilities like? How much support would their be in the community?

I would hope that a 4 or a 5 A school would beat a 2A school. I do not see any advantage for WC to play a Corbin, maybe to keep some of thier own kids but that would be about it. WC to even do well in the playoffs must be able to beat the single and 2A schools and most 3A schools. That in my opinion is one of the problems, we think to small. Even two schools that are a few miles down the road has greater success than WC in the playoffs. Well lets just be honest there is no way that a 4 or 5 A school in this area could ever get passed the second round. That includes the new Harlan Co. School! Speed, Strength, Numbers, are all in Northern Kentucky. I mean WC has some exceptional athletes maybe even around 15 but not 40 like some of those teams such as Highlands.

I think this is a great reflection upon Corbin! Anytime a 2A school is even considered fairly equal to 4 or 5 A school, they must be doing something right. Or possible could it be that the 4 or 5 school could not win 2A state championship.... hmmm Either way I wish all area teams the best of luck!

You make a great arguement for the private small A schools, but as far as the public schools, we struggle to play with the elite of the elite. Is it fair, no, but neither is life. One of the team's that I pull for is Williamsburg and they play in a district where they compete against 2 4A schools and a 2A school, realistically what chances do they have to win the district or even a chance to get to the region. Another team the I pull for is Cumberland where I teach, we took South Laural to the final 30 seconds in the region semi's, still a single a school playing against a much bigger school, again is that fair, maybe if I could bring in kids from all over the county and recruit but I can not, so the answer is still the same it is not fair, the entire system needs to be overhauled. Why is it that 48 other states have done the exact same thing.

Again, I will not say anything as of yet, because it is just a rumor, as of now! But good luck to both teams tonight!!!

If the rumors hold true there will be one in the 50th district, but I want to make sure that KHSAA will post the opening before I comment on it!

I believe that Williamsburg asst coaches do a fine job; just very young and wet behind the ears; just like the head man. However, more support would be great for their staff. Anyway, good luck Jackets!!

Interesting thoughts, however, I believe Coach Robinson will stay for a very, very long time! It is a large challenge that is in front of him, but he knows that Rome was not built over night! Unfortunitally, things do happen, three coaching changes within the last ten years, however, that is in the past, I would just assume to keep it there! Go luck to the Jackets in the future:thumb:

I agree, Whitaker has done a great job! I also think that Phelps has done an excellent job with his team this year!
