They should still be looking after this week.

 

I don't think they'll get there first win until they play either Lloyd Memorial or Bishop Brossart.

 

I think at best, Newport will end up having a 4-6 regular season and at worst a 1-9 season.

I agree. Tall order to go down and get THEIR first win against a much bigger Whitley County team. However, outside of the NCC game, I think the rest of their games are all winable games. Not guarantees, but definitely have a legitimate shot in those games. This is provided they begin to execute better and cut down on the turnovers. Not sure the deal with Brewer, but i thought Wilson threw the ball well against Ryle, all things considered. Long way to go, but could end up 2nd in this district.

Things are starting to come together for the Colonels, they are at home against an opponent who is a long way from home and its the Alumni Bowl.

 

Besides all that, I think Whitley will be ready and play to the level everyone has been expecting.

If Newport plays like they played against Ryle last week they won't win a game. They have a lot of work to do. I also thought the QB for Newport threw the ball well when he had time. JD

Whitley will win simply because they have worked too long and hard not to get a win. Whitley has gotten better every outing and I expect iimprovement this week.
