  1. Is that system not fair? I pay more in Federal right now! My state tax is more than 10% however I concede that I only pay 6% sales tax.
  2. Flat Tax, Flat Tax, Flat Tax, everyone gets tax 15% Federal, Everyone get 15% sales tax and 10% income state tax. No loop holes, even those on a check pays, the middle pays, the high pays. Buisnesses get taxed on profit by 10% before shareholders get their profits. Anyone that does not pay, first property taken no questions asked, second live on the street, third prision or shot! To me this is fair. What say you!
  3. South Laural seems to hold their own against Corbin in every sport. As far as Whitley Co and Knox Co. is concerned. I would have to agree the above statement.
  4. They could:thumb: And in their perspective, it is perceived (sp), that it is now a level playing field, in the aspect of a public school playing a public school only and vise versa.
  5. Someone please help me out here... (First before you read the following, please, please, please do not think that I am being smart, just an honest opinion, nothing more nothing less. Saying the above... Here is the problem according to the private schools in the State of Kentucky. They are being "boycotted" basically after winning state titles at the 4A and now 6A level for years. The private schools say this is unfair because 1. it teaches all children a bad lesson, something along the line of if you get beat quit. 2. The private school children have the right to participate in sports. The public schools are saying basically the reason they wish not to play the private schools is because of the "unfair" playing field that is perceived to have by the privates. I think I have both sides down... if I have one wrong, please correct me later! So here is old Mr.'s opinion... First, the private schools are being hurt by this decision, because their kids are not getting to play a sport as long or if any at all as the public school kids. However, unfair that decision might be, the public schools can and probably should just play one another. Why, because of choice. I read another poster's comments and was touched by how hard they had to work to allow the child or children (I can not remember) to go to a private school. They had the choice to do that... With every choice comes consequences, I am sure that everyone teaches their children this concept. The choice has actually become very clear now thanks to the superintendents. You have the choice to send your child to a private school and play limited sports. Or you can send your child to a public school and play all sports. Now, why this choice has to be made is due to the vote of the superintendents who are either going to be praised for such an action or ridiculed by such an action, depending on where you stand. So the next question is "is this choice fair?" Yes and no, yes because a parent has the choice to send their child to a public school. No, because the choice only affects those who did not get to vote. Life is not fair, but in every aspect of life, if you live in America you have a choice it is ok to disagree with the choices that people make or even have to make, but at the end of the day it is still a choice so to the Private School parents you actually might be the best winners of all because you get to choose which path you want your son or daughter to go down and the lines have never been so clear.
  6. That is an interesting theory... however that is what it is a theory. I have another point to make but I will make it later. Good day to all!
  7. Preach on brother!!! I want to say I agree with you 100% I agree with you so much so that I think you have made the case for the public schools. You can go to any school you want to, as a result, public schools may choose to play you or not play you because of that decision. No one ever looks at the other side of the coin, nope we call them "cowards", because they won't play with us anymore, play football, play basketball, play all sports, within your own private relm and be happy, and we will just play in our diverse world.
  8. I just gone finished working on the study of Angels to help out Larry: If people would be interested I would help in starting a thread and delving in...
  9. Mine does! I was just giving suggestions what that person could do:thumb:
  10. Here is what I would do... 1. Ask the church where does the tithing go to?\ 2. Ask to see the church budget? 3. Question every line item that does not relate to services the church provides 4. Search in my own heart about the idea of tithing and what it means to be a good stewart 5. Treat my pastor with love and kindness, but have the deacon body kick him out! (j/k)
  11. Why don't we use our reserve... force our hand to make alternative fuel... then we would talk... or start drilling in N.D. Alaska... all of which would lower prices
  12. I think that is a good one to end on for tonight! Look forward to working in Mt. tomorrow! As always God Bless Each of You and look forward to seeing your responses!
  13. Psalm 91:11 "For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways" OK guys, gut feeling this will be a hard one... I think to get the context it needs to be read fully "He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadows of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God in whom I trust. Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor th arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday. A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you make the Most High your dwelling even the Lord who is my refuge, then no harm will befall you no disaster will come near your tent For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your waysthey will lift you up in their hands so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent. Because he loves me say the Lord , I will rescue him; I will protect him for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me and I will answer him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation. Larry: This passage is meant for you!!! It is my feeling after reading your encounter this should directly speak to you... Go in Peace my brother!!!
  14. Psalm 34:7 "The Angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him and he delivers them" Context: Psalms is usually considered a praises/prayers to the Lord. This looks like a praise reading the whole psalm. Now the question is what is the "Angel of the Lord"? This is not the first time the Bible makes mention of this... I don't believe that this is like the angels we are studying, but instead this trying to describe God with a limited vocabulary to do so. However, we might, and I stress might conclude that it is a spirit, which inclines that angels are spirits, what do you think
  15. Not going there... perfer to keep it clean and I do enjoy this discussion.
  16. That is all I have time for tonight, if you wish for me to stop, I of course will, but I sure do love studying! Can not wait to read what you think...
  17. Luke 20:36 "and they can no longer die, for they are like the angels. They are God's children since they are children of the resurrection". Context: Jesus is talking about the end/death. He is saying we become immortal, just like the angels. See no major grips here, but what say you...
  18. Acts 6:15 "All who were sitting in the Sanhedrin looked intently at Stephen, and they saw that his face was like the face of an Angel" In context, Stephen is about to be the first christian Maryter So I imagine a radiant face here, kinda like those pictures where you see Jesus's face shine compared to the others. So I gather out of this Angels are bright... what say you
  19. Galatians 1:8 "But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned". Self explanitory (sp) Angels can preach the gospel, but they can also lead you astray (with the idea of free will for an angel).
  20. 2 Peter 2:4 "For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them into gloomy dungeons to be held for the judgement" WOW!!! WOW!!! Angels seem to have free will in this verse. For if they just obeyed God, they would not have sinned. In context though, Peter is giving warning of what happens when people stray. So now we know for a fact Angels have free will, so with that being said, maybe they can choose who to help in times of need... interesting thoughts, what say you...
