I do know that Trotwood had 7 players sign (most of them D1) last year. I am sure Dale will have the Birds ready.

I know that Cord Johnson (DT) from Oldham Co. High School was awesome at the squat. I can't remember his actual amount but I think it was the Meade Co. Weight Meet.

Please keep the kids and community of South Oldham in your prayers. Early Sunday morning former Football player Jonathan Hooper passed away due to a car wreck. It happened in Texas (he was a Freshmen at the University of Texas). Jonathan was a 3 year starter at OL/DL for South Oldham. He has an all district performer his Jr. and Sr. year. He was the JR and SR. Class President and top ten academically in his graduating class. He was also team capt. and one of most respectful people I have ever met. This has been very hard for the whole staff. He has a sister that was our water girl for 2 years as well. She is a Senior this year. This is especially difficult for our kids because they lost one of their asst. coaches last year (Bubba McCollum) during the season. Keep the South Oldham Football Family in your prayers. Thanks.

The Defensive Linemen from PRP is very good. I think he was all state this year and is coming back.

South Oldham's Cody Malone 6'2 210 (will be a Junior). Averaged 37.8 last year in his first year as a punter. If you round up it is 38 yds.

I guess Brian Brohm could have been a better basketball player if not for football. Let these kids have fun and become a better athlete. Male always has a few kids like Doug B. who play both and they are always really good in both sports.

Drew Simpson (son of Head Basketball Coach-Steve Simpson) started and did well at QB for South Oldham. Steve is very supportive basketball players who want to play football.

Did I read that correctly- no Jordan Kramer. I am not a Highlands historian but the kid can really play some football.

That is the attitude "just quit if you have not been very successful". That is the wrong idea. Instead get behind the guys who are coaching.

Great player! Where is he going to play in college.

He was a really nice player. He flew around the field and always was around the play.

Bubba McCollum played for the Oilers for a couple years in the 70's. He passed away last year during the season. He was the DL coach for South Oldham. He did a great job at getting the most out of his DL.

I know that Coach Brown is having a good turnout in the weight room this off season. He is working hard to get more kids out next season. He is also trying to change the attitude around the school. Plus their schedule is a little better (no Central or Bullit East).

The kicker from the Eagles David Akers is from Tates Creek.

They played Ohio teams.

Way to go South Oldham players Joe Gamsky 2nd team LB/DE and Seth Gordon -Honorable Mention RB. Both did a great job over the last 3 years.

South Oldham is 100-94 since 1989.

The difference between Trinity and most other schools is the backing of the administration. It sounds like that Coach Beatty has the backing of the administration. In addition Coach Beatty is a great football coach. Not everyone could win a Trinity. There is alot of pressures that come with that job. He and his STAFF has done a great job and should be congratulated on another state championship but I would also say that other high school coaches like Atherton's Matt Brown and his STAFF should also be congratulated for taking on the challenge of changing the culture of a team into a winning one.

Yes they do have alot of talent but look at how many D1 kids came from that team. Only 2 or 3 maybe. I know that the QB might get drafted in baseball so he might not even play college football. It comes back to the amount of coaches, SUPPORT OF THE ADMINSTRATION, and the community support. Those kids were pushed to be their best. These are the reasons why schools like this succeed more than just the great talent.

When does the district basketball tournaments start again. One more week (if your team is lucky enough to keep advancing that means that your kids are learning how to win=carries over to the next sport). I don't think that basketball coaches are going to go to crazy over this.

Vic Anderson showed up for the meeting but could not play b/c he will be out of town. Seemed like a great person. Yes he would be fun to watch. But so will Detrick Briggs from Southern and Seth Gordon from South Oldham (both great running backs).
