BareRock
what Bob Beatty is all about. I can't begin to thank him for what he has taught my sons about everything from football to just being a 'man'. We know what he is all about , and that is about every kid that is willing to do whatever he can to help the team succeed. Other coaches may tout only a few , but coach would be the first one to tell you that none of the stars would have ever had a chance to shine without the whole team. Brohm graduates ......more winning. Petrino will graduate.....expect the same. A great man is coaching at a great school . We are so lucky to be 'Trinity' fans. We may have a tornado, snow storm or flood, or we may even lose, but I will never ever stop being grateful for what this great gentleman has done for my boys. Go Rocks Go ! TRINITY FOREVER !! just 4 fun
Nothing against Beatty...I'm sure he's a very good man, but, let's see him go to JTown or Atherton and see if he can have the same type success. I'd be willing to bet his replacement at Trinity would have the same success he's had and more than he'd have at those 2 schools...

I don't think this post had a whole lot to do with football. It was a classy post, but that response is the opposite.
75center
Great post Barerock. The Bob Beattys of this world never get enough accolades. I still remember lessons taught me by my coach 35 years ago.

I agreed he's a very good man....But, when you include "Brohm leaves and still winning, Petrino will leave and expect the same", it does have to do with football and his coaching ability, so, I have every right to comment back...Sorry you feel it classless, but, I think it's a fair question.... sports fan
IMHO (and I don't really know Beatty) he could win, or at least do a heck of a lot better job, with the talent at Manual, Ballard, Henry Clay and a host of other schools. He might not win a state title at Atherton or J'Town but you know darn good and well that the Rebels and Chargers would be putting teams on the field that are a lot better prepared. T would not look forward to playing the Bruins if Beatty was running the show at Ballard.
RockPride
I would absolutely love to see him take over Ballard or Henry Clay...have those kids sell out and buy into his philosphy, and then see that product...] Whew....now that's scary. PepRock01
T would not look forward to playing the Bruins if Beatty was running the show at Ballard. No I would not! He would give that team exactly what they need to be very dangerous. I could see him having similar runs at Ballard to what he has had at Trinity honestly, if he decided to coach there(thankfully I don't think we'll ever see that). CoachBrown
I would like to comment on the behalf of myself as the head football coach at Atherton High School. I keep seeing that people post on this website and refer to the programs like J-Town and Atherton as the lowest of the lowest. Please remember that there are people like me out there that read this site and understand that my football program at Atherton is not in such great shape like other programs. However, when you make comments about certain individuals being able to make Atherton a much better place, you are basically saying that I have no idea what I am doing. You do not know the circumstances at other programs and are certainly not a member of those programs, so please stop referring to them. If you want to talk about how great Trinity is than please do so because they deserve the credit but leave Atherton out of it. Thanks Coach Brown
sports fan
^^^ Point taken. Best of luck to Coach Brown. Without disrespecting any program, I think Bob Beatty (love him or hate him) is a very, very good coach. To that end there are probably a number of schools whose programs might improve if he were in charge. And that does not mean that other programs do not have GOOD coaches, but Beatty has proven (IMO) that he operates on a different level than some others. The difference between Trinity and most other schools is the backing of the administration. It sounds like that Coach Beatty has the backing of the administration. In addition Coach Beatty is a great football coach. Not everyone could win a Trinity. There is alot of pressures that come with that job. He and his STAFF has done a great job and should be congratulated on another state championship but I would also say that other high school coaches like Atherton's Matt Brown and his STAFF should also be congratulated for taking on the challenge of changing the culture of a team into a winning one. 87Bird
but Beatty has proven (IMO) that he operates on a different level than some others. I'm not intimately familiar with Coach Beatty's career record, but has he coached at a school that does not have a history of success? I don't know. No doubt, he's a special coach. But, just as Dale Mueller and other coaches know, what you do with your boys is just a part of what makes a great program. It's started years ago for the "program" and the current players(youth league and parent support). Congrats Rocks!!
RockPride
Something about tradition.... (Football wise), there are four schools around here, that people proudly claim they are aulms from...duPont Manual, Louisville Male High School, Trinity High School, and St. Xavier High School. Now, Manual sometimes falls on hard times, but they are right there, the other three dominate. If you look across the state at who's alums, and communities are most proud and willing to show that daily, you have winning programs.
