  1. I don't know if I have ever seen this many big games in the first round of regional play: 9th Boone Co. vs. Notre Dame 10th Clark Co. vs. Mason Co. 11th Lex. Cath vs. Scott Co. 16th Rowan Co. vs. Russell This is already amazing and we haven't even seen all of the regional pairings yet.
  2. It is now looking even worse for Lex. Cath after losing the district championship. They will have to travel to Scott Co. for the first round of the tournament. They definately have the talent to win that region again, the loss to LCA will either fire them up or put doubt in the back of their mind. Time will tell.
  3. Here it is.... Girls LCA/Berea Woodford/Henry Clay MadSouthern/Franklin Scott/LexCath
  4. Does anyone know when the 11th region is drawing for the tournament? Could be interesting to see if Lex. Cath and Scott Co. draw head on.
  5. The bottom bracket will definately have some good games leading up to the finals. I think that Harrison will play Montgomery Co. tough in the semi's but I think Montgomery will be too much in the end for the Lady Breds. I was at the draw this morning and it seemed as if the coaches from Mason Co. and GRC feared that the draw would end up the way it did.
  6. I think Brandon Rash played an excellent game for the Indians. This kid is a sophomore, and may be one of the best defenders in the region. He has given Preston Knowles fits all season and again tonight Knowles got most of his 16 when Rash wasn't in the game. If Bart takes the cuffs off this kid on the offensive end I think the sky is the limit.
  7. It is beginning to look that way scooterbob. This could make for a very interesting regional tournament draw.:creepy:
  8. I am going to start the GRC bandwagon and climb on it.:thumb: Gold sunrise I am rooting for you all to run the table in the 10th. I will back any team coming out of the 40th and if it doesn't work out for Clark Co. who ever else wins the 10th.
  9. Montgomery Co. 61, Clark Co. 38 40th District Finals at Bourbon Co. Clark Co. (17-10) -- P.Rogers 5, J.Rogers 5, Montgomery 8, Cates 6, McCaffery 12, Wallace 2. Montgomery Co. (26-5) -- Lee 8, M.Prewitt 24, High 9, Davis 4, Barnard 3, Thomas 10, Webb 1, Colliver 2. Clark Co. 10 9 14 5--38 Montgomery Co. 20 12 13 16--61
  10. This matchup would make virtually every game a good one from the opening round to the championship.
  11. I have never really thought about the origin of that phrase. Interesting story!!!:thumb:
  12. Congrats Coach Lively. He did it at Jackson City and he's doing it again at Powell Co. Kyle is a first class person. Good luck Powell Co. in the regional tourny.
  13. Thank You. I have been a part of this game from all angles and I know how quickly these two teams can fill a gym when they get together.
  14. What is the official gametime for this game. GS is 100% correct, it doesn't matter how good either team is or how much they should win by this game almost always finds a way to stay close. I will say Clark by single digits.
  15. Final from the 40th District Championship in Bourbon Co. Clark played hard but just couldn't seem to get anything going tonight. Congrats Lady Indians!!!:thumb:
  16. If Rowan Co., Russel, and Rose Hill draw into the same bracket this is very possible. With that kind of draw whom ever comes out of that bracket will be beaten up and worn out by the time they get to the championship. Should be an exciting 16th region girls basketball tournament at the AAC in Morehead. Congrats and good luck Lady Rams.:thumb:
  17. Nice article GS. I am somewhat confused. Have all the issues with Knowles been resolved or are some still lingering? If this kid gets focused down the stretch they will be tough to handle by anyone.
  18. Congrats on the win. I like this team and they have all the weapons they need. I hate to say it but as long as they don't fall asleep while Montgomery Co. runs their half court offense they shouldn't have much trouble. Great rivalry nonetheless, the atmosphere should be electrifying.
  19. As far as the Sweet 16 goes I don't see any justifiable way of seeding the tournament. Regional tournies take care of themselves with all the winners drawing losers. The district tournaments should be the same across the state. I don't believe that one district should seed while another blindly draws. I am all for seeding district competition, all though there isn't as much drama, it does give the best teams in the region the best chance of advancing.
  20. My vote goes to Whitaker. He has held this team together after taking a big blow around Christmas time.
  21. Which ever team out of the Big 3 in the 10th region that is alone on their side of the regional bracket will most definately have an advantage going into the Regional Championship. If Mason is alone in the bracket I will say that they most likely don't have a problem winning the region. If either of the other two are alone things could be very interesting.
  22. This sounds like coaches telling their best freethrow shooter to step to the foul line, in place of a not so good shooter, to shoot freethrows after a timeout or after walking the length of the floor. You would be amazed at the number of times this is pulled off and it is a whole lot less noticeable.
  23. Way to go Ivan Ralls. He is a great guy that has been Dan Manley's right hand man covering Montgomery Co. basketball for a while. Good to see him getting recognition from the rest of the 10th region.
  24. Thanks jahearme. I guess I was off by 10. Either way the Lady Indians had a great showing. The fouls ended up working against Sacred Heart down the stretch because they only had 2 teams fouls to Montgomery's 7 in the fourth quarter when they needed to get the Lady Indians to the line.
