  1. This would have to be a tough pill for the Indians to swallow on Senior Night. I think the lack of a competition on the schedule caught up with them tonight.
  2. Final from Mt. Sterling. Not sure if the score is exactly right but it is close. Lady Indians by 9.
  3. This is probably the most accurate statement that could be made in this thread. Everyone questions coaches at all levels whether they have anything to do with the teams or not. Questioning the coach of your team in front of other parents or players involved only causes more problems and it is very disrespectful.
  4. Very good example...danged if you do, danged if you don't!!!:thumb:
  5. This could be like Bracken Co. beating a good Brossart team in the opening round of the district tournament when Brossart was an All "A" state runner-up. I think it may have been the 01-02 season. But I don't see it happening.
  6. I know this does not hold true for all situations but I can speak for my father that coached two of my siblings. He was more critical of both of them on the court. He expected the most out of them and he knew because they were his kids when he wasn't getting it and they paid for it. I commend him for the way he handled a tough situation by not playing favorites and not ever bringing the game home. Coaching your kids is a danged (not sure what words can't be used on here) if you do, danged if you don't.
  7. This was an embarassment to say the least. I thought that the picture on the screens was fine but there are definately a few bugs to work out as it was the first time the screen has been used. Someone definately should have been in the gym experimenting with the new equipment before it came time for the senior night festivities. I don't think that this has anything to do with hosting a regional tourny though.
  8. As for a player that means the most to a contending team I would have to go with Desarae Chambers of Mason Co. in the 10th region.
  9. I believe from top to bottom the BBA officials that cover the 10th and 11th are as good as it gets. I've played in and been a part of games in every region across the state and I think these are as good as any.
  10. I totally agree. This is why I believe that all high school coaches should hold open practices. In high school there should be nothing to hide and as a coach you should know enough about your teams and their families to know who the people are that are watching practice. When parents have a question the coach should invite them to watch practice and see for themselves.
  11. I am not sure as to what regions are swapping officials this season but I can see arguments both ways. You don't have some of the "good old boys" calling big games and favoring a certain team, but on the other hand the officials that go out of region have no accountability when it comes to ratings for the next season. I think both ways can be justified but I would like to see officials that I am used to seeing throughout the season and knowing how they are likely to call the game.
  12. Boone is a very dangerous team. The first posession of the game Boone Co got two offensive and had three missed layups. This is kind of the night that they had. They had opportunities but just couldn't seem to break through. Boone Co. has a lot of talent and they will be very dangerous if they can "get their ducks in a row" before tourny time.
  13. Sorry 3ptshooter I must have overlooked that thread earlier today. I made the comment before the game that Boone Co's girls definately had Nicholas Co.'s boys out sized. That is really sad. The difference in scheduling between the programs was pretty evident tonight.
  14. The Lady Indians turned it up in the second half. Prewitt finished the game with 29, most of which were layups. I think the transition game took the size advantage away from Boone Co. tonight. Nell has a lot of talent up their and I wish her and the Lady Rebels the best of luck from here on out.
  15. Game 2 should be a dandy. I don't think I can pick a team in this one it has to be a toss up! Good luck to both.
  16. Like I said before I would gladly make the trip every year if the region could be held at a neutral site such as that one. The gym looks great inside and out. Great pictures.
  17. Congrats Lex. Cath. This is why you can't afford to take your players out of a game in until the losing team concedes defeat in my opinion. It may look bad in many ways but I believe it is the losing teams place to call off the dogs and concede defeat. Great showing for Paris and the 10th region.
  18. This team was not on probation because it never got that far. The KHSAA didn't have a leg to stand on. I believe coach High was was a victom of some jealous people and the KHSAA got in the middle of it. I don't want to sound defensive on this subject I would just like to get the facts out there.
  19. My thoughts exactly, but you may need a six-sided coin.:thumb:
  20. All of these charges were dropped due to a huge lack of evidence it didn't even make it to court. For some reason the way I understand it the KHSAA has not reinstated the wins they took from his record at Whitesburg. Maybe they were just embarassed...either way I think it is pretty sad. I believe he is not only the best in the region but one of the top across the state!
  21. Why the big chip on your shoulder? I was being completely honest in my post. I personally don't have anything against Mason Co. or any of the fans. They have a great program and a great following that I have a lot of respect for. I am not originally from this region so I speak with cofidence when I say that people will travel to a neutral site. This was not a shot at Mason Co. or The Fieldhouse.
  22. I think most people are missing the point here. It has absolutely nothing to do with people not liking Mason Co. It has everything to do with a competing school hosting the region on their home court every year. Therefor in all fairness the site should be rotated. In an ideal world the 10th region would have a site like MSU or EKU that is neutral and where no competing school can play a regular season game. If NKU ends up having a facility capable of hosting the tourny I would be more than willing to drive up there every year from Mt. Sterling to watch the tourny. This is with the understanding that no competing school has access to the court until tourny time. Until then it should rotate.
  23. If that is where those districts decide to be the best site, so be it. Maybe one of their churches have a fullcourt.
  24. It doesn't matter where the tourny is held in the region. The simple fact of the matter is that fans will be turned away at some point. We are talking about the 10th region. Certain fans will be upset no matter. I think it is funny that people talk about how well Mason Co. plays at home in every other thread except the one dealing with the regional tourny site where they don't seem to have an advantage.
