Not overly suprised by this, though the margin of victory is more than I thought it would be. I've seen Montgomery County play a couple of times this year. They truly play as a team.

The Lady Indians turned it up in the second half. Prewitt finished the game with 29, most of which were layups. I think the transition game took the size advantage away from Boone Co. tonight. Nell has a lot of talent up their and I wish her and the Lady Rebels the best of luck from here on out.

Boone does not start a tall line up w/only one 6 footer(Behrens). Boone played absolutely no defense, at least on Prewitt. She was a step ahead of all the Boone players and took it right to them, probably only having a couple baskets from the outside. It was a joy to watch a team make hard cuts off the screens and go to the basket, very disciplined. What is amazing to me is all they ran was the old, simple FLEX offense and ran it well! Congrats on a great game.

 

Boone, back to the drawing board. Way too many missed lay-ups/put back opportunities. Obviously, against the better teams this can not happen. I wish I had an answer as I am sure the coaching staff does too. Keep hustling and playing hard, hopefully things will change over the next few weeks. There is still a few games left to improve and then another season begins.

Boone is a very dangerous team. The first posession of the game Boone Co got two offensive and had three missed layups. This is kind of the night that they had. They had opportunities but just couldn't seem to break through. Boone Co. has a lot of talent and they will be very dangerous if they can "get their ducks in a row" before tourny time.
