  1. This is not the only region in the state with a facility that is a lot bigger than the closest one to it. It is the only region that hosts the tournament at a competing schools home floor. I will go on record and say the the KHSAA WILL NOT OVERRIDE THIS DECISION!!!
  2. I wouldn't stake my life on it....But a pretty good sum of money that it does not matter if it is a legitiment shot or not, if nothing or no one makes contact with the ball and the "shooter" retains possession it is a walk. Where is Ghost for confirmation????
  3. Cline did have 21 for what it is worth. I thought that is what it was and that is the only way the score adds up.
  4. It would have been really fitting to see a first round match up between John High at Montgomery Co. and Howard Beth at Marshall. These are the two winningest coaches in Ky. Girls Basketball history only separated by less than about 20 wins. It wasn't meant to be and I think that this state tournament might be one of the most evenly matched and most exciting in recent history every night!!! See you in Bowling Green!!!!!!!!!!!:dancingpa
  5. Great win for Clark Co. but and I don't remember what thread it was in toward the beginning of the season but I believe that I called this one. Clark Co. has a very dangerous teams and enough weapons inside and out to make noise against any team in the state. Good Luck to the Cards down the road in Lexington and another Congrats to Gold Sunrise.:thumb:
  6. Congrats to Peggy and the rest of the girls. Kendall is definately the real deal. I had an opportunity to see her earlier in the season and she was very impressive. When I heard she was just a 7th grader I was amazed. Good luck!
  7. I am not sure about the numbers but I would say that you are about right. There was a little room in the upper level of the endzone and around the top tier of Mason Co. side of the court. Either way every single person in the gym was completely engaged down the stretch in one of the most unbelieveable emotional rollercoasters I've ever witnessed.
  8. There was not an MVP trophy presented. Just 4 all tourny players from Montgomer Co.: Jenna High Maggie Prewitt Macenzie Lee Courtney Danis
  9. Absolutely an unbelevieable game from both teams tonight. Neither team was going to let it get away and it is just sad that someone has to lose a game like that. I don't know any official numbers but I believe that the attendance had to be close to a 10th Region Girls' Final record. 3 lead changes in the last minute, you couldn't hear anything but screaming. I'm glad the Lady Indians prevailed but Royals played their guts out tonight and I wish them the best of luck next season!!! Good Luck At Diddle!!!!!!!!:dancingpa
  10. I think this was the difference in the game. In the last few minutes Brossart began jacking up three pointers that they had passed up all not long until they got a better look.
  11. I think that the referees will play a huge roll in this one whether they want to or not. It depends on how the whistles are blowing. Will they let them bang inside? Will they call reach in fouls? Will they call a walk? I know that at least 6 to 8 of Mason Co.'s points tonight came after a missed traveling call. Not to say that Brossart didn't have a few themselves, some officials just allow the extra step when players go to the basket or cross the lane and dish off (that Cline has perfected). I guess we will see tomorrow night. Good luck to both, if Montgomery Co. isn't the team to go I can't think of any better team or coach that I would rather see making the trip to Bowling Green.
  12. Maybe true and honestly I don't know the first thing about 13th region boys basketball. I do know Eddie Whitaker and his family very well from years passed. I'll go ahead and put it out in the wide open that any predictions that I make about this region are completely biased due to lack of info. and geography!!! This is who I'll pull for until they are out of it in the 13th region!:thumb:
  13. I believe the Mason Co. fans won't be able to get enough tomorrow after their boys win (should win). There will be a solid line of cars full of Royal fans from the Fieldhouse to Mt. Sterling tomorrow. Should be a great day of basketball. I look for the Montgomery Co. faithful to be out in force as well. Maybe one of the bigger crowds the young gym has seen yet. (hopefully anyway) :dancingpa
  14. I will most definately be in attendance!!!:thumb:
  15. Just like I expected. I was extremely impressed by Brossarts effort. Excellent game plan coming in for Brossart and their girls laid it all on the line tonight. They seemed to be very well coached and very disciplined. Congrats to Mason County, I hope to see all the Royal fans in Mt. Sterling tomorrow night.:thumb:
  16. The Girls' 10th Region Tourny was offering the inserts this season at Montgomery Co. I actually like this better. By using the newspaper inserts it keeps cost down for people who otherwise wouldn't bother buying one that was 3 or 4 dollars. The girls had individual articles and pictures of each of the teams. I was impressed by their inserts, I haven't had an opportunity to see a program from the Boys 10th region tourny yet.
  17. I know the rules pertaining to three seconds. I will admit that I was probably a junior in high school before I knew all of the different scenarios in which the count restarts. Now I just chuckle when I hear someone coaching and reffing from the bleachers and they make comments like this. Really lets you see how much they know about what's going on!!!!
  18. I'll take Eddie Whitaker and company to take care of business in this one and the championship!!! I don't think he could dream of any better way to make his first trip to Rupp with both of his sons suiting up for him!!!:thumb:
  19. Thanks Ghost. That does make a lot of sense and you're right if it is called early it takes care of a lot of problems. I still think that because of these offenses this call is overlooked a lot because the other four players may not stop moving in and out. I also like the point you made about calling it to avoid calling a foul. This can be done in a lot of circumstances, and in most cases I wish it were done more.
  20. Brossart and Mason play close than they should in a sloppy game after Mason's emotional win over GRC. I'm sure Mac will have something up his sleeve for Montgomery Co. tonight. Might be close than some expect but I believe Montgomery Co. prevails. Should be a very exciting Saturday night!!!!!!
  21. This is amazing. Sounds like my sister that my mom had to sit and hold sleeping while my dad coached in the State Championship game. I couldn't imagine having to sit down throughout a game of that magnitude!!!
  22. Great post. I bet that the Pandas will be going deeper than the Colonels this season. They have a great team up there at Notre Dame. I wouldn't be suprised to see them in the final four at Diddle.
  23. For Brossart to pull the win they must keep it close early. This is not the type of team that will play from behind very well against a team like Mason Co. They need to keep it close and sing Mason to sleep with some very methodical offense. Methodical offense can be your best friend and your worst enemy. I think it will be their best friend in this one, I will also take Brossart in an upset by 1, with the score staying lower than Mason is used to. It is very tough to beat a good team 3 times in one season.
  24. I think this is a great point. It played a large roll in Montgomery Co.'s first of their last two regional titles. The team was so young at that time that they had no idea what kind of pressure they were under. Good luck to both.
