Montgomery Co. 66 Mason Co. 63

Final.

Great game. The better team won at the end. Mason had a chance to go up with less than 10 to play but Cline threw it out of bounds, then commits what they called on the radio an intentional foul and Montgomery Co. seals it with free-throws.

Montgomery Co. goes to the Sweet Sixteen for the 3rd straight year... Congrats!

I attended the game and both teams played very well. Great GYM. Rolling the ball to half court to keep clock from running wasnt a great idea , They caught on real quick. But the Lady Royals played very very good, Just hate to see anyone loose those kind of games, Im sure these 2 teams will lock horns again next year in the finals. Lady Royals have some super super players...

Absolutely an unbelevieable game from both teams tonight. Neither team was going to let it get away and it is just sad that someone has to lose a game like that. I don't know any official numbers but I believe that the attendance had to be close to a 10th Region Girls' Final record. 3 lead changes in the last minute, you couldn't hear anything but screaming. I'm glad the Lady Indians prevailed but Royals played their guts out tonight and I wish them the best of luck next season!!!

Good Luck At Diddle!!!!!!!!:dancingpa

Yes they do have some super players, but Mason loses 3 seniors this year.. 2 of them that started. I'm assuming K. Menke will attempt to take T. Chambers' spot, but who will be the other? Mason has to have some great play from their bench players, who haven't been playing at all, or else they could potentially struggle. But there is plenty of time to talk about that at another time.

Both teams played hard and yes losing this kind of game is just as hard, if not harder, than losing by 20. Good luck Montgomery at state, and congratulations Mason Co. on a great season.

Did Prewitt earn MVP honors?

There was not an MVP trophy presented. Just 4 all tourny players from Montgomer Co.:

Jenna High

Maggie Prewitt

Macenzie Lee

Courtney Danis

Exciting game to watch; I would have liked to see Cline take the ball upcourt at the end as she had torched the Lady Indians all night long. The pass to Dee, who was double-teamed down low, was just about impossible to pull off. Three years in a row that Montgomery County has had Mason County's number.

Don't know how Prewitt was left off the all-region team. She might not look like a basketball player but she sure plays like one. She and Lee hit some huge shots tonight.

Good luck to Montgomery County in the big dance; and congratulations to Mason County for a great season!

I couldn't agree with you more MCPAPA, Prewitt just gets it done and that is why I was so surprised to not see her not selected by the coaches as a 1st teamer. That was definitely one they got wrong. They used to give Doug Flutie a hard time about not being the prototypical NFL QB, but all he did was win. That is what Prewitt does and does it in so many ways for the Lady Indians. Big props to L. Cline, she really showed me something tonight. D. Chambers was D. Chambers as usual, but what about the big Soph. B. Colliver? Did she play huge or what? Both teams will reload and be the top two contenders in the region next year! Great crowd tonight and I'm sure it will be a record crowd for a 10th Region Girls final and maybe any girls regional final.:flame:

I hope so, but Mason County needs to find three or four more players. Right now we have only four girls returning who played one second or more in this year's regional tournament. That's a discussion for another day, though.

Again, great game tonight; definitely got my five bucks' worth.

Listening to the game on the radio it seemed like Lacey was consistently beating her man off the dribble and the last play should have been designed for her. One thing would like to see the girls do for next season is to get in better shape because of all the minutes they will have to play. What has always impressed me about the top flight programs is the sleekness of their players. The Lady Royals have proven they have the talent and determination, being toned and in better shape should push them over the top for next season.

Great game, great atmosphere. Easily one of the best girls games I've ever seen. The best thing was that it wasn't one of those games that's close because of turnovers, unforced errors, etc. It was just two teams making one play after another and was also pretty well officiated.

I know you hear it all the time but this really was a game where it was a shame that either team had to lose.

Here's what I've got as an unofficial box for now. I ran into a mix up so a couple of Mason's individuals may be off by a point or two but it should be accurate for the most part.
