  1. Congrats, good school and great facility, Tex Turner Arena, wow!
  2. If it had been one occurrence and given a second chance, I'd understand, but to give chance after chance, year after year, sounds like to me winning was more important to the coach than teaching any life lesson. I'm not buying your explanation. I hope that she has finally realized the decisions she made in the past were wrong ones and makes a positive difference goin forward, but her past actions were a slap in the face to those that were doing the right thing. Seriously, the girl came back and ended up in the starting line up, what about the ones that worked their butts off all season only to get bumped as soon as she was ready to come back? I'm not indicting the player as much as I am the coach in this one. Good luck to GRC against Ohio Co. on Wednesday.
  3. Congrats to GRC but you do have to take into consideration the win at all cost philosophy. Jewel Rogers should never had been on this team with all of the past transgressions. Coaches should teach life lessons, that's more than winning on the court or field of play. She never played a complete season for 4 years because of her behavior and I think that is a bad reflection on the Head coach. GRC turned out to be the better team but it was done in a way that you can't really be proud of if you take into consideration they did it the way they did it. Congrats to Taylor, Brittany, Kayla, Brittany, Preshia, Shamy and those that that did with great sportsmanship and respect for the game.
  4. Physical game, advantage Clark Co., would be be interested to see this match up again with a crew that would call a consistent game. Granted Clark Co., took advantage of what the officials wouldn't call.
  5. I would believe that if Jehlik hadn't got voted on, if they saw Jehlik they had to have seen Spence and Lausti, hmm? Only one team in the Region beat Montgomery Co., yet they only get one player on any of the teams or honorable mention? Are they overacheiving? If so why wouldn't Coach Robinson get coach of the year? I don't get the logic, sounds like a bias in the region to me because of the success Montgomery Co. has had over the years in the Region. Same thing happened last year when Kayla Webb didn't get the proper recognition on these teams. Congrats to those that got mention and to the coaches, I just wish the list showed more integrity.:idunno:
  6. It appears GRC had match up problems with the Franklin Co. lineup!
  7. I'm assuming GRC couldn't handle the physical size of Franklin Co. on the inside in this one. Anyone get a first hand look at this one?
  8. I believe the score was 62-44, Montgomery Co. pulled away in the 4th quarter.:jump:
  9. Not so fast Magicfan, Montgomery Co. beat Lex. Catholic at Catholic by 11, the same Catholic team that beat Clark by 17 at Clark. Montgomery Co. may be ready to make a strong run to defend their crown.:sssh:
  10. Check out Sydney Moss' stats for the tournament at http://www.gatewayholidayclassic.com
  11. Wow, the website for this tournament is great, it has all the updated stats for teams and games. The Montgomery Co. folks did this up great, I enjoyed my time at this tournament. Hats off to the those Mt. Sterling/Montgomery Co. folks and their hospitality. http://www.gatewayholidayclassic.com :dancingpa
  12. Great tournament. Rockcastle Co. beat Boone Co. in the finals. Great 3 days of games, awesome field of teams, two excellent facilities to play in.:ylsuper:
  13. Huge first round matchup at Montgomery Co. with Rockcastle Co. and Scott Co. squaring off, should be a good one, get your popcorn out for this one.
  14. Yea the Lex. Catholic tourney should prove to be brutal. I also saw the bracket to the Gateway Holiday Classic at Montgomery Co. should be some great competition there too. http://www.gatewayholidayclassic.com I can't wait to see all these games in short amount of time.
  15. What holiday tournaments will everyone be attending?
  16. Montgomery Co. is young but still not sure if Clark Co. has made it to the next level. Montgomery Co. at home by 13, Clark Co.:idunno: will have matchup issues.
  17. Very exciting game, Mercy wins on a shot with 2 seconds left on the clock, great atmosphere for both teams to play in this early in the season. :dancingpa
  18. Wow, I agree with you Plato, considering Coach Robinson coach that group of seniors and had success with them in middle school as well. Wow, I'm really shocked at that statement.:deadhorse:
  19. Congrats Smoove and best of luck. Big loss for Paris, 40th District and 10th Region Girls basketball.
  20. Will Coach True allow Jewel Rogers to play this year?
  21. No Anna Martin and No Courtney Clifton really hurt the KY squad this year. Oh and I'm not an LCA fan, just stating the obvious, they are two of the most talented in KY this year.
  22. The regional site rotation for the boy's and girls are different, thus the girl's tournament is at Harrison Co. The girls regional was at Campbell Co. last year.
  23. I'm not gonna exonerate officials at all, they have the same accountability as anyone else and no they don't always get it right but it is a part of the human element of the game. I was at this game and also saw the replay on tv and my thoughts are there wasn't much contact that appeared on the play but there was some body contact. At the moment, I didn't think that there was but on the replay the body contact appeared to happen in the trunk as evidenced by the way the players body reacted. Now, my take to those disgruntled by the call, I would say how in the world did the young lady get so wide open under the basket? I would be more upset with that than anything. I mean ball was literally handed in to her! It was a great game and someone had to lose. I saw the same Montgomery Co. team play the night before and people were upset with the officiating that night as well but truth be known, Montgomery Co. comitted 20+ turnovers and that just magnified the poorly officiated game. So there you have it, officials miss calls and players fail to execute at times and it happens every game and when you're on the losing side of the outcome it hurts. :deadhorse:
