A open letter to the CovCath Crazies.......

Featured Replies

Gentlemen,

For over forty years I have attended many, many games be it at CovCath or on the road, in Football, Basketball, or Baseball. One of the many constant in attending these games, has been seeing the girls of NDA also attending the games and cheering on "their Colonels". Now understand, I am neither a teacher, administrator, coach, or even a parent of one of the girls on the basketball team, so I am not speaking on behalf of the school at all. However, it would be nice if the Crazies in mass, attended and cheered on the Pandas, to show your appreciation for their many years of attending the Colonels games and cheering on you guy's.

Now I understand it is a different brand of basketball than what the boys play, but NDA does play a very good brand of basketball. Now if you think why waste my time, then do it for a selfish reason. Seniors, if you remember back to 04 and your freshmen year at CovCath and going to Rupp, then you must remember the over 400 NDA girls who skipped school that day, and the following day to attend the Sweet Sixteen. In 06 they did it again by the hundreds, well, if NDA wins the next two games, NDA will be going to Diddle Arena on the campus of Western Kentucky University to play in the Girls Sweet Sixteen, and Seniors, my guess is a few of you just might want to skip school to go down there.

Again Crazies, please come to the game, as most of you know the NDA players as you went to school with them as kids, and or at least know someone who attends NDA.... Come on out too, as NDA is playing the team that you guy's love to hate.... Ft. Thomas Highlands.....

The game is at 6pm at Conner High School.......

If nothing else do this old alum a big favor, and come on out.... and cheer on the Pandas.......

Nice gesture Oldguy. :thumb:

You may be able to get a few extra to the game, but I don't think you'll be seeing a student section (full of young men, at least) anytime soon. ;)

Great post. I bet that the Pandas will be going deeper than the Colonels this season. They have a great team up there at Notre Dame. I wouldn't be suprised to see them in the final four at Diddle.

Only the game to think about, is this Friday night against Highlands......:thumb:

One game at a time, one win at a time, and getting better everytime....

I actually get a kick out of the crazies, (being an HHS fan) Love the enthusiasm, But here's my gripe...I saw it also tonite with the Dixie section. I'm all for "shouting down" an opponents' cheering section during games, etc... But when the opponents cheerleaders take the floor to do a cheer "routine" and they scream throughout it, well it's just RUDE. These gals work hard and want their chance to perform. Show a little class and let the ladies have the center stage.

I want to thank the few boys who showed up and cheered on the Pandas Friday night in their win over Highlands. What the rest of you missed unless you watched it on cable Friday night, was the Pandas taking over the title as the best student cheering section on what used to be called the CovCath Highway, but has since been renamed the Panda Trail....

:D :thumb:

From the looks of the broadcast the ND student body showed well.

Please. The student body finally shows up for one game and now its Panda Trail? As one who has experience on both sides of the highway, its not close. NDA girls ONLY show up en masse for big (very big) games. How many were there against Boone? 50? 80? Out of 600?

Secondly, NDA girls DO come to the CCH games but to say they cheer a lot is more than a stretch. Are there exceptions? Of course.

NDA girls, and again I have one, have YEARS of consistent support ahead of them before they worry about competing with the boys.

Please cshs81, I believe I have been to a few games at CovCath over the years, and yes I understand that NDA doesn't hold a candle to the Crazies, just having some fun with the boys.....:D  who I still believe should come out and support the Pandas if for no other reason, than being just nice to their friends and former classmates....

BTW the boys who did show up were mostly from the CovCath Basketball team. Thanks again guys......

...because they have CLASS and realize that if you want support, you gotta give support. Wouldn't be surprised if Coach Listerman didn't "encourage" his boys to be there.

It is been reported by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prention) that a strange strain of virus is excepted to be hitting the student body hard at CovCath this week. Seems that this strange strain of virus is only passed on by being near a Panda and hasn't been seen or heard of since 1987. The only know cure for this disease strangely enough is attending the first round match up of the Girls Sweet Sixteen at Diddle Arena come Thursday afternoon.

Come on Crazies, I am sure you all would rather stay in school, than travel south to attend a basketball game, full of young ladies....... :D

Strange too is that the CDC is calling for yet again that strange stain of Blue flu that always seems to hit the girls at NDA hard come the boys Sweet Sixteen. We all know that the only cure for that is attending the Boys Sweet Sixteen.

Ah, it happened at Highlands too, I've been there. Let's not single out just one school. I agree the "rudeness" level in high school cheering sections seems to have gotten worse over the years, however this has been an issue since I was in high school back during early 70's. Heck, I think it might have been worse back then because kids packed the gyms at high school games. Your point is well taken and I have spoken to my son about showing more respect. Hopefully more parents will do the same.

Personelly I agree, with another poster on another thread who said, today's Cheerleaders are Cheerleading for themselves, more than the team that they are suspose to be Cheerleading for. They seem to be more concerned about their rountines, than getting the crowds involed in the game, and I have to have to agree with him.

Now I understand that some Cheerleaders actucally try to get the students into the games, but even at the 2006 Sweet Sixteen Basketball Tournament the head of the Cheerleading Assn told the Cheerleaders, they should look at CovCath and learn how they get their students involed in the games.....
