  1. I had the chance to catch this game tonight in Maysville and you all are right it wasn't much of a game once Montgomery got rolling w/ about three minutes left in the 1st quarter. Montgomery must crash the offensive boards like they did tonight and improve their free-throw shooting if they expect to pull out a win against the Royals at home on Monday night. I guess you couldn't even consider this home for the Lady Royals, considering they play most of their regular season games at the old Maysville High School Gymnasium. Should be some exciting girls basketball Monday night at the Fieldhouse.
  2. Tonight's game against Harrison proved your point. I couldn't imagine anyone wanting to play either of these teams. Montgomery could have trouple with Paris if they were to see them again. That would make the 4th time this season if it happens. It is hard to beat anyone 4 times in one season especially a quality opponent playing as well as Paris.
  3. If your looking for inspiration and a good reason to keep practicing, The Pistol is a great movie. This movie is about the life of "Pistol" Pete Maravich w/ a little bit of Hollywood drama in it.
  4. The 10th region could solve some of the problem by taking the same approach as the 11th region. All district winners host their first round regional game. This would make it more of an advantage coming out of your district as a winner and it would save four teams a trip in the first round. After that round move the tourny to one location. I know that there would still be a traveling issue but I think that it would make for larger first round crowds and save at least four teams and their fans a trip. Just thought I would throw that idea out there!!!
  5. I know that there are schools such as Scott on the outskirts of the region, much like Estill Co. had been for so many years, and it really isn't fair when you should truly be in the 9th. I'm glad we have another quality team in the 10th but I don't see traveling anywhere in the region being very easy for you all. Too bad this is such a spread out region w/o a more centrally located facilities capable of hosting a tournament the size of the 10th region's.
  6. I agree totally that it would be tough for teams to travel to Mt. Sterling as well. Wouldn't it be fair to rotate it and have on each end of the region every other year? No one is asking the Fieldhouse to give it up for good. Just let the other end of the region experience the same convenience.
  7. I will be the first to admit that I loved playing in the Fieldhouse during regional tourny time. But this is not fair in any way to allow a contending school to host the regional tournament year in and year out like they have for so many years. For anyone to say that it isn't an advantage to play on your home floor and only have to travel a few minutes to a game is badly mistaken. How many times has a player been sick from a bus ride to their home gym? I know of multiple cases where it has happened for a traveling team on a bad road on a bus. The only reason it should be at the Fieldhouse is because of the money. I for one would be willing to lose a few dollars as an administrator to give my kids a fair shake during tourny time. Mason Co.'s district isn't at the Fieldhouse every year, so why on Earth should the region be!!!
  8. wow...sounds like a thriller. Survive and advance is the name of the game at this point. Clark Co. survives this one and i look forward to the showdown between them and Pendleton Friday night!
  9. No surprise here...the previous two meetings between these two teams were close. I believe the game at Paris went into two o.t.'s. Paris has an excellent team that no winner in the region will want to open with at the Fieldhouse.
  10. Pendleton Co. Augusta Clark Co. Scott Bishop Brossart Montgomery Co. Mason Co. Deming
