  1. Even if her team didn't advanced, it could still be presented with the rest of the individual awards after the championship. All of the all tourny team players aren't playing in the championship.
  2. It may be something better suited for the end of the tournament when individual awards are given for all-tourny team. I agree it needs to happen at some point in the regional tournament because it is a great region wide accomplishment.
  3. I think the verticality rule may be one of the most missed. At game speed you see someone jump straight up and the offense creates contact, it may appear that the defender is fouling. I like this post because it sheds some light for people that have no idea about officiating. I have a question for you Ghost. In your personal opinion what do you think about the 3 second call? Do you look for it when your on the baseline, or is it something that is just looked at when someone literally doesn't move out of the paint for a few consecutive possessions? It seems like over the last four of five years this is being called less and less.
  4. Live and learn. Making mistakes is part of it, what you learn from the mistakes you make is the most important part.
  5. I was wondering the same. I was not able to make it to the Fieldhouse and I would have liked to at least listen to this one.
  6. I might give the edge to Montgomery Co. in the 40th district due to their depth at the pitching position. Lindsey Rison, Paige Compton (only a freshman w/ a lot of varsity experience), and KK Oaks are all very capable and due well picking each other up when one of them is having an off night.
  7. I agree. From the sounds of some of the posts on here over the last few months it sounds like their are some problems surrounding this program. Don't know if it had to do with players, parents, coaches, administration, or a combination. This job seems to me like it needs a seasoned veteran to get it back on track. On the other hand if Hundley turns it around he will look like a genius. Only time will tell.
  8. This is definately possible. The 6th and 7th regions host their boys and girls tournaments at Louisville Gardens. I wouldn't mind seeing this happen. Could be very exciting for the locals around NKU. Basketball, basketball, basketball all day for about a week wouldn't be too bad.
  9. I was lucky enough in high school to make the regional tournament all 4 years. We never did win it and two of our losses came in the championship game. At no time did I see any actions like this in public. Of course emotions run high and it is kids that are involved but I don't think that any of these are reasons for such actions to be excused.
  10. This is all great to hear. I was afraid that the girls tournament was really going to suffer due to both being on the same day.:thumb:
  11. I am just curious to see how many 10th region fans will be willing and/or able to attend both the boys semi-finals and the girls championship on Saturday? Their are a few teams that could possibly have both their boys and girls playing on Saturday (Mason Co. or Brossart). Just curious to see how each will be effected. If you don't attend both would you have if they weren't on the same day?
  12. Unless their has been a very recent change of address OJ plays for Huntington High School in West Virginia. Sounds like this was a really good game to watch. I am also suprised to see the difference in free-throws but a guess a few of the 42 came in the closing minute. On the topic of Gray, I believe a kid of any age should be held accountable for their actions. This doesn't just make her look bad but it reflects on the entire program.
  13. How many did Scott County shoot? Either way that is a very impressive stat. Hard to beat a team that converts like that from the line!!!
  14. Great game tonight. It looked liked Mason Co. let it slowly slip away throughout the third and the beginning of the fourth quarters. It ended up being GRC that let it get away in the last two minutes. I still can't figure out why GRC's coach didn't use the last full timeout he had on their last possession when things began getting very wild and unorganized. I guess hind sight is 20/20. Congrats Royals you definately played hard tonight to get a good win!!!
  15. I would love to see this. Eddie Whitaker deserves a trip to Rupp Arena!!:thumb:
  16. I think Montgomery Co.'s schedule was far too weak this season to pull this type of upset.
  17. I'll predict that Lex. Cath takes a lead into the fourth quarter. The coach as well as the players tighten up a little bit and Scott Co. chips away to win the game in the last minute. Scott Co. 73 Lex. Cath. 69
  18. Brossart Mason Scott GRC Mason GRC GRC Jones-GRC
  19. Well stated. This team can be as good as they want to be and no one player on this team will do it by herself. The leading scorer could be any of 4 or 5 people any night, to me this is why they are tough to handle.
  20. I agree. This tournament nearly looks like it was seeded. About as evenly as it could have possibly been drawn up.
  21. Well it looks like the Montgomery Co. fans can get ready to support their girls! Did they draw for this tournament or did GRC just write it in? :thumb: Good luck Cards.
  22. This is a very impressive resume. I think Mercy has not gotten as much attention as they should, believe it or not I think they may be somewhat under the radar for once. I think Montgomery Co. would love a rematch at this point in the season.
  23. Good point. A big win in the first round is useless if you lose in the second or third round.
  24. Most people in Kentucky consider Bowling Green the other side of the world. I don't think the geography has too much to do with this.
  25. Nice post and an honest opinion. Most people would rather watch a guys game in most situations but the way the girls get treated or just totally ignored isn't right.
