Good win for JBS. looks as though the region is much closer than i thought. How did the game go throughout?

I still haven't picked my winner to come out of this region...may have to flip a coin like I did last year....:D

Congrats to JBS nice win.

Sounded like it was back and forth with June B pulling out to about a 9 point lead late in the 4th that Breathitt couldn't overcome.

didn't think the Bobcats could be this close at Pippa Passes.

To be honest, neither did I. I don't think JBS is as good as everyone says they are, but on the other hand, I don't think that Breathitt's so-called "weak" schedule has proven them to be too bad of a team. This is just another game that tightens the 14th. It's really getting crazy!

I can barely pick up 97.3 down here in Lexington, but did pick it up with a little static. It sounded like there were a lot of fouls called on both teams, with neither team getting into a great flow. Stepp took it to the bobcats all night long. Fugate and Smith got into early foul trouble and had to leave early in the first half. I believe the bobcats were up 4 or 5 points when Fugate got his 3rd foul in the 2nd quarter and then a momentum shift with the bobcats going into halftime down 3. Also Hollan had to sit out much of the 3rd after getting some quick fouls. It appears that if Breathitt cannot keep Smith and Fugate on the floor they get into trouble scoring. This was a big win for JBS and just shows how wide open the 14th is.

Stepp was just too much tonight for the Bobcats. They put different people on him the whole night, but nobody could do anything with him. Cox is still not getting as many shots as he should, but a win is a win I guess.

Will you people please go back & read some of the older threads & posts about this game & how Breathitt would shut Stepp down (had 32 points). I just think its funny & I'm sure SOME of you others do also.

Doesn't sound like there was anything funny about this game. Sounds like a dandy.

Did I say the game was funny ??? Don't think so...

I was referring to all the posts about how Breathitt would "shut Stepp down" but somehow he seems to score 32 points & get his team the W...:sssh:

I agree with this statement. The 14th has been so unpredictable this year. It's really going to be an interesting and fun regional tournament at Letcher Central. The semifinals will be great.

Here's my choices from the 4 districts to make it to the region:

53rd: JBS and Letcher Central (this one's just a guess because I don't know who's playing who in the 5 team district)

54th: Hazard and Perry Central

55th: Breathitt County and Wolfe County

56th: Lee County and Powell County

I agree with you prof on all but one. I think KCC will come with JBS out of the 53rd. It will be exciting and fun in Whitesburg.

This was a pretty good game. It was one of the better games I have seen played this year..All I know the 14th region is going to be a exciting one this year...Its wide open. Where was the Combs kid Breathitt had playing for them??? Did he quit the team??
