JBS 60 Breathitt 56

Good win for June B to defend the Grady Nutt center after Perry came in and stole one. Good bounce back game and a big statement for them in the upcoming games.

I only have one question??? Does Clark Stepp have to get 30+ pts every night for them to win? Seems if he dont score his 30 then June B goes down, but the thing that confuses me is the potential of the team. Good size and good players just no chemistry doesnt usual make sense ina small town. Is it they lose because he take his shots reguadless win or lose or is his 30pts needed for them to win the big games???

personal or team realted??

Disgruntled over playing time. He injured an ankle earlier in the season and other players stepped up and he never was able to break back into the starting lineup.

Is this the first game Combs has not played in since he initially came back. I hate to see a kid unhappy and eventually quit his team. It is always good to build relationships on teams, unfortunate that sometimes relationships falter on teams. If he is definitely done for the season, it will hurt Breathitt a great deal on the depth chart.

Yes. First game he has missed since being back. He could have stayed around and helped his team by being a role player for now. His strength was playing hard and fouling people, which is the kind of kid every team needs sometimes. But he chose not to and that's that I suppose. IMO it doesn't hurt them too much depth wise but as you say, who knows what the fallout is relationship wise.

My understanding is that he was back to starting for the last couple of games, but i think he was upset at his playing time. Looks like if a player was starting he would be happy and do what is best for the team and accept he coaches discision on playing time. They have a good team from what was said last night in the JBS game.

He didn't start at Breathitt's home game last week nor the home game before that but I don't go to away games so he might have started on the road.

Sorry to disagree with u but he had been starting since the LCC game and he did start last friday against lee co. I was there scouting the game.

I think it was something to do with his mother who wasn't happy with his playing time from what i've heard

I still haven't picked my winner to come out of this region...may have to flip a coin like I did last year....:D

Congrats to JBS nice win.

My thoughts exactly, but you may need a six-sided coin.:thumb:

I'm sure you are right. I had forgotton about the Lee game.

Will you people please go back & read some of the older threads & posts about this game & how Breathitt would shut Stepp down (had 32 points). I just think its funny & I'm sure SOME of you others do also.

Stepp should have 50 points a game as much as he shoots the ball.

Did I say the game was funny ??? Don't think so...

I was referring to all the posts about how Breathitt would "shut Stepp down" but somehow he seems to score 32 points & get his team the W...:sssh:

Yes. you did say it was funny. He should have more points than 32 as much as he shoots the ball. He is a BALLHOG.

I can barely pick up 97.3 down here in Lexington, but did pick it up with a little static. It sounded like there were a lot of fouls called on both teams, with neither team getting into a great flow. Stepp took it to the bobcats all night long. Fugate and Smith got into early foul trouble and had to leave early in the first half. I believe the bobcats were up 4 or 5 points when Fugate got his 3rd foul in the 2nd quarter and then a momentum shift with the bobcats going into halftime down 3. Also Hollan had to sit out much of the 3rd after getting some quick fouls. It appears that if Breathitt cannot keep Smith and Fugate on the floor they get into trouble scoring. This was a big win for JBS and just shows how wide open the 14th is.

Do you know someone that plays for Breathitt????
