This is the younger brother who played on the freshman team last year. The senior football player is not playing basketball this year.

As Clyde said, lineup in last couple minutes of first half really got HC in a hole. HC defense not very good tonight, resulting in Boone hitting 28-32 free throws and numerous lay-ups. Defense will improve as season progresses and football players are worked in the rotation.

HC beat St Thomas 70-68 in overtime in '65 regionals. Wasn't St Henry & wasn't 5 OT's.

I have an even greater appreciation for Geisler's game after today. What heart! He was a warrior. Basically carried NCC for all 4 OT's, and kept from picking up his 5th foul in the process. He was begging for the ball when he hit the big 3 at the buzzer in the 3rd OT. All this on the big college floor,running the full length every possession. Very impressive!

How many regional titles do the Walton girls have? Is this their first ever? I know they have some All A titles, but not sure about the regular regional.

CovCath's 5 year run was more impressive because they pretty much dominated a region with a lot of good teams for all 5 years. In fact, only one team in the region beat them each year in that run. They were also robbed of a state championship in '67. Holmes' run is impressive too, but no more impressive than their 4 out of 5 year run from '76-'80 which also included a state championship which they were robbed of BIG TIME!

I think Melvin Webster, the AD at Brossart, has been working on a 9th Region History book for quite some time. I don't know if that's who you're thinking of or not.

It was a horrible call! Didn't hang on the rim or taunt. An equally horrible call was the traveling call on Arlinghaus when he sunk a three to cut the lead to 45-40.

Own the 9th teams??? Two other schools "not named Holmes" have beaten Scott this year- Holy Cross & Dixie. They're 5-3 vs the 9th. I would hardly call that "owning the 9th"!
