Buddy Biggs leaves Pendleton County with many accolades: 2001-2002: Runner-Up McDonald's Holiday Classic in Bath County. 2002-2003: Biggs leads the young Wildcats to their first regional tournament since 1997. 2003-2004: Biggs leads PC to a 20-11 record and first 38th district title since 1996. It was the Wildcats first twenty win season since 1984. Runner-Up in AIT. 2004-2005: 29-5 record(2nd most wins in school history). Kentucky AP Coach of the year. Runner-Up in 5/3 Classic Holiday Christmas tournament. Wins second straight 38th district title. Wins 10th region championship, the first for PC in 34 years(1971). Competes in prestigious Sweet 16. Assistant coach for Ky in Kentucky/Ohio All-Star game. 2005-2006: 28-4 record. Louisville Courier-Journal Coach of the year. 3rd place in Laurel County's Hoopin' IT Up Classic. Won first-ever MCIT. 38th district 3-peat. Reached semi-finals of the 10th region tourney for 3rd straight year. Had a 19 game win streak. Buddy Biggs leaves with the 3rd most wins all-time at PCHS. He only needed three more to become 2nd all-time. His five year record was 102-51, a winning percentage of .667. While in Falmouth, Biggs won one MCIT, three 38th district titles, one 10th region title and was runner-up in five other KY high school tournaments. He will not be forgotten......

It's suprising really. Didn't even know that he was up for it. Flynn is a great coach and a great guy as well. He will do well at Bourbon County. Congrats to Mike. Will anbody agree with me when I say that the the 10th Region now has the best top to bottom coaches in the state?

I am also expecting the Wildcats to suprise some people this upcoming season. Although their overall summer record was not good(10-17), I believe they played some above average competition. They traveled to three different team camps and played teams from KY, TN and OH. Inexperience will definitely be their biggest weakness this year. They basically return 1 1/2 players from last year's team. The 1 being Kane Belcher and the 1/2 being Jeremy Mudd, who spent time as a JV starter and a Varsity role player with limited minutes last season. Schedule wise the young Cats play their normal 10th region schedule with games against Mason Co., GRC, Brossart, Bourbon Co., Montgomery Co., Harrison Co., and Scott all at home. The toughest part of the schedule is the first half. It includes 9th region road games at Holmes, Conner, Dixie, NCC(I think) and not to mention a trip to Lexington for the prestigious 5/3 Classic. I believe their record will be over .500 and if you look at the 38th District you have PC, Harrison Co., Deming and Nicholas Co. In that field, IMO the odds are with Pendleton. If you look at the Region, you have two dominant teams returning, Mason Co. and GRC, and besides those two it's very open. However, if I did pick a preseason #3 team it would Bishop Brossart because of what they return. It all depends on who is playing the best basketball in late February and early March. Could be anybody........

Henderson County beat Pendleton County by 22 points at Bowling Green HS. Both of their first games.

Pendleton County went 6-4 at Transy camp. Wins: Southern Oldham Co Tates Creek Marion Co Muhlenberg North Magoffin Co Losses: Central Hardin Hopkins Co Central Russell Oldham Co In the first round of the tourney they beat Magoffin Co then lost to Oldham Co in the second round.

They defeated Southern and Oldham County, but then lost to Hopkins County Central the final game on Sunday. Today they play(in no certain order): Russell Marion County Muhlenberg North Tates Creek West Carter I think......

I agree, Mason and GRC will definitely be preseason #1 and #2 in the region. I expect them to battle it out all year. They should both be state ranked this upcoming season.

I thought the one handed put back slam from Worm in the state finals was the best live high school dunk I had ever seen, until I saw this video. My all-time favorite now is Worm's two handed reverse putback against Russellville at home. It looked like he caught it at his waist with his back to the basket and then he just reversed it over his head. I couldn't believe it. Incredible!!!

My grandfather was a senior on the 1946 Campbell County team that won the 9th Region. I never did recall him or my father talking about a different format back then.
