I was at that session in 2000. Sparks looked like a bald Jason Williams at the time. I remember not only his impessive scoring, but his crisp and fancy passing. Dawn can flat out shoot and I got to see him play only once. Both of these guys were great HS guards.

Can't believe nobody mentioned Patrick Sparks scoring 73 points in a single game. He only did it in a 32 minute game. Kobe scored 81 points in a 48 minute game. Pat was an impressive HS player.

Talbert Turner is another player, who if they would of had a three point line then, he would of scored so much more. Talbert had tons of range. He is Pendleton County's all-time leading scorer with 3,100+ points. he went on to play at Morehead State. That record will never be broken at PC!

Pendleton County WILL be higher than 7th next year. Augusta might be a bit too high.

In 1995, I'm pretty sure of this, David Turner of Pendleton County scored 55 points in the Campbell County Christmas Tournament.

A few that I have seen are: February 27, 2004, Mason County's Chris Lofton scores 54 points against Pendleton County on his own senior night. He also broke the school record for points that night. February 6, 1999, Paris' Chez Marks scores 50+ @ Pendleton County during a regular season game. It looked to me that he didn't even break a sweat. March 22, 2003, Mason County guard Chris Lofton hits nine 3's against Louisville Ballard in the state's biggest HS event. He had 39 for the game.

There is always someone under the radar who has a good tryout. We'll call these players the darkhorse picks. Who could be a darkhorse this year?

When was the last time a team, who had a Mr. Basketball the year before, won the state title?

J'Town had to win an impressive five games in 6 days. Congrats to Coach Morrow and his squad.

Where is the scoring at? The two winners from the Wednesday afternoon session have a combined 89 points. Graves had 42 and SL had 47. Not one team has hit 50 yet. It's kind of hard to believe. Hopefully there will be more scoring during the rest of the tourney.

Pendleton County played four games in the post-season. They went from playing Harrison County to playing Deming and Augusta(two well below .500 teams) to playing 22-8 Clark County. This might have lowered the level of play for the Wildcats in the GRC game.

Jeffersontown will represent the 7th region at State.

I'm gonna try and make it on Saturday.

Love to watch both teams. Central has a kid named Jeremy Anderson who can flat shoot it from anywhere. He is tough. Mason County has a stud in Darius Miller. He is a future D-I player. Should be a great game. I'm gonna take Central's experience. WC 69 MC 65

Madison Central I got a chance to see them twice last year. They seemed to lack a lot of things to compete for the 11th. Glad to see Coach Feldhouse get back to Rupp. COngrats Indians!

Mason County has won the 10th Region four out of the last five years. Year to year, they truly are the most dominant team in the region. Congrats to them and good luck against the 4th Region. Also, the past nine regional champions have been from either the 38th or 39th District: 98-Fleming Co. 39th 99-Fleming Co. 39th 00-Brossart 38th 01-Campbell Co. 38th 02-Mason Co. 39th 03-Mason Co. 39th 04-Mason Co. 39th 05-Pendleton Co. 38th 06-Mason Co. 39th

It's kind of ironic that both Mason and GRC both have the same exact record of 22-8. Who would of ever thought that 23 wins would be the magic number?

Pendleton County was 57-9 during the 04-05 and 05-06 seasons. They were also 34-3 in the 10th Region during the two years. Clark County just had to be one of the three teams to beat them on one of the worst nights that it could happen. Congrats to Pendleton County for a great two year ride. Hopefully they can keep it up next season as well. As for GRC, a remarkable win. We'll see if they can win their first title since 1990. Congrats to Coach Humphrey and good luck in the finals.

It's hard to beat a good team three times in one season. My hats off to Pendleton County for a great season. A record of 28-4 is an accomplishment itself. Good luck to the 6 seniors(Mains, Elrod, Elliott, Davis, Bishop, Gibson) in all that they decide to do.

We will also see if Pendleton County Senior Terry Davis will keep up his hot shooting streak. He had a career high 29 points on Monday. Kid is having a great Senior Year.
