I was gonna mention him. He played with my uncle. His senior year, in 1983-84, he led the state while averaging 30.6 ppg. I used to play golf with him a lot, however I haven't seen him in maybe 3-4 years. He played college ball at Morehead State while earning OVC all-freshman honors in 84-85. I was always told that he was great at using his body and drawing fouls. I think his exact total was 3,181 points at PC.

I saw Chez score 50+ at Pendleton County his senior year. He put on a show.

You're right. 14-7 is a .666 winning percentage. What was I thinking? You know where I attended high school though.

1) Chris Lofton(Mason County)-saw him score 54 points on his own senior night. Would (and still will) pull from anywhere. 2) Richie Farmer(Clay County)-a great pure shooter. Automatic on free throws. 3) Ervin Stepp(Phelps)-never saw him play, but when you average 60+ for a season you have to give him some credit. 4) Scott Draud(Highlands)-went on to have a good career at Vandy. Have heard stories about him making 48 out of 50 from the elbow at Ken Shields NKU camp. 5) Rex Chapman(Apollo)-high rising jump shot. Played in the NBA for a long time.

Not sure really. Ashland will proabably not have Matt Thomas and Drew McDavid due to football, and if they do they will not be in good "basketball" form. PC lost a lot to graduation, but they return Kane Belcher and a bunch of solid players. And plus this game doesn't really mean anything, so I am I don't really have a prediction.

Another Highlands player that had very quick hands was 2004 graduate Nathan Hall. I believe he lead NKY in steals his senior year.

I did not happen to know that. I actually remember the year when Pendleton County took out the wooden bleachers and put in new ones. I never knew that they went to Augusta though. It was 1996. That is very unique to me.

Yes that is correct. Mollie Linville-Shultz had great careers at both BC and Shawnee State in Ohio. She is entering her 2nd year as the head coach of the Lady Bears.

Connie Appelman is the all-time leading scorer at Augusta and she also topped 1,000 points at Morehead State University in the early 80's.

Mustang is correct when he talks about how Rhoden used to be "tall, smooth, intelligent, and coordinated." I played middle school AAU with Derrick and he would just flat out dominate games. He was easily our "go to" player. I think he even shot our free throws for technical fouls. It's a shame that things like that have to happen.

It's unique that Deming, Augusta and Silver Grove are all in the same region(10). You could almost throw St. Patrick in there too.

What PC "intramural" team are you talking about?

I played against him my senior year. He is nowhere close to Spillman as far as being quick, but he is a very good player.

I actually had a chance to go into the old Bracken school and gym during the spring of 2005. The whole school is full of bats, mice and birds. The gym floor was covered in dust and it looked like the last event to be held there was a prom because there are balloons and decorations everywhere. The floor sqeaks really bad when you walk on it. I was always told that it was a "good shooting" gym. It is unique to me because on one side the bleachers are moveable, and on the other side the bleachers are stationary. That was always neat to me. I don't know about it being flooded though.

Don't be suprised if Highlands does well in the AIT. The past three out of four years, teams from Northern Kentucky have excelled in the three day tourney. Dec. 2002-Ryle earned 3rd place while Justin Doellman won MVP. Dec. 2003-Newport Central Catholic beat Pendleton County in the finals. Dec. 2005-Bishop Brossart won the tournament.
