Big men are at a premuim in Kentucky, who are the top big men coming back for 2007?

I think you have to start the list with Thomas Coleman at Jtown, Stephon Pettigrew at Etown, and maybe the Hurd kid at Simon Kenton.

Who do you think will be the top big men for 2007?

I'm talking about kids that will spend most of their time with their back to the basket on offense

I think you could toss Kane Belcher of Pendleton County's name in there. He is 6'7 or 6'8 and he is going to have to be the leader down there next year...

Good 3 to start with but I'm not sure if Hurd or anyone in NKY (not including PC :jump: )this time deserves to be in this list yet. NKY is guard oriented.

Zack Keirnan of NCC is a beast. He's 6'6" and strong as an oxx. If your from NKY and have seen this kid you know he is the best big man in the area next year and probably is the best inside, big man this season.

You have been touting him for a while and I am still not convinced that he is tops this year. Has plenty of potential and as you mentioned size.

I understand where you come from and I might be a little biased towards Kiernan since I helped out with the AAU team he played on. He's just a great big boy with a lot of heart. A good kid all around also.

But I am just interested in your thought on what Zack needs to do to be the best big man in the region next year or this year. I believe he is averaging a double-double and gets quite a few blocks per game. His biggest weakness is foul trouble, but other than that what do you see that makes Zack vulnerable next season. Thanks CCH5432!

No doubt he is an excellent player, and you are right that his main weakness is foul trouble. The only other thing he might need to work on is the ability to take over a game. As I know you see many CCH games as I do, we watch sometimes where Todd or Timmy just take over and can't be stopped. With his combination of size and footwork, if he can get that ability to just dominate, he will be in my mind easily the top big guy in NKY and one of the best in Kentucky.

Also, I don't know if you are going to work with that AAU team this year, but if you are, then you will be working very, very close with cch5432. :sssh:

Is Kiernan going to play basketball or football at the next level?

What level could he play baketball at?

Didnt I see one game where he was like 20 for 40 from the line by himself?

that is an amazing stat

He will play D-1 football for sure. His dad played at Notre Dame, and I think Zack is a tight end on offense. At 6'6" he will do very well in D-1 football.

Love his intensity, however, he needs to control his emotions a little more. Yes he has good size, but that is not carte blanc to feel that he can just bang and not be held accountable for losing control with his emotions(mouths a little too much to the officials when he gets caught).
