Who are the top big men in state for 2007

Featured Replies

Who are you speaking of? Zack plays on both sides of the ball.

I think he's saying he plays Tackle, not Tight End; and yes on both sides of the ball.

Trey Smith of South Laurel.

6'8 with a great shot. Can do it all, even shoot the trey. He has really stepped up for SL this season and made a big name for himself. Smart ball player and son of former UK player and SL Athletic Director G.J. Smith. Needs to get a little stronger to be the post presence SL needs him to be, but he will absolutely be one of the best.

Garrison COllins from June Buchanan will probably go about 6"10" by then and is already a huge defensive presence. He had 18 against Henry Clay this year as a freshman.......

Good call by you and JimSchue. He really does need to get much stronger, but he has a sweet shot and excellent range for a big man, much like his dad did in his heyday.

My only wish for his development as a player is that he would drive to the hole the way he did against North College Hill more often. NCH couldn't stop his slashing to the basket. That adds a much bigger dimension to his game, but he is still content to settle for jumpers too much.

You are right. I think the lack of physical strength has him a little gunshy to go inside and pound a lot of the time. If he gets stronger and more agressive he could be a huge factor for South next season.

Josh Hurd from SK has the body to be one of the best. He needs to get that mentality though. A very nice guy to talk to, wish him nothing but the best!

The big boy from NCC is a great player, but football will get him where he wants to go. He plays basketball with an attitude, which is the way he needs to play.

I agree. IMO it will not be Proffitt or Hammonds that holds the key to how good SL will be next year, it will be Smith.

SL has depended on Allen for the last 2 years. If SL is to continue being dominant next season, Smith has to get bigger and stronger and make his presence known more in the post.

He can shoot the lights out with mid range jumpers and treys. He can, when he wants to, slash to the basket as Jim Schue pointed out. He just needs to do that more often, and then get a little stronger so he can bang around in the paint.

Candy Kane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is this a compliment??

candy cane????????????

He has grown into a Hurrikane, but he was originally a candy kane!!!

he might have started as tropical storm Kane, but don't know if i would have ever said Candy......IMO

Tristen Jones from Clark Co. will be making some noice as he has this year
